Rishi Sunak has 'renewed confidence' about tackling Channel crossings

Rishi Sunak has said he has 'renewed confidence and optimism' about working with France and other European nations to tackle illegal migration after meeting Emmanuel Macron at Cop27 in Egypt.

Under pressure over the problem of people crossing the Channel to the UK on small boats, Sunak met the French president at the Cop27 climate summit, their first in-person meeting since Sunak became prime minister.
