We were night hunting coyotes outside of Sweetwater TX when I was 6? My grandpa was making this dying rabbit scream sound blowing through some blades of grass and a bunch of javelinas showed up. We could see pretty good but the 30-40 black things creeping up on us in the dark was eerie. My grandpa kept making that scream noise drawing them in closer and then he grabs my leg and drags me a couple feet. I prolly screamed for a solid 10 secs....

We've got them here, in Arizona.
Mostly, if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone. However, they can be quite aggressive, fussy, cranky, and VERY unpredictable! 🙄

They taste good if you shoot them in the head. I wouldn't recommend bow-hunting. If you hit them anywhere else they release a hormone that makes the meat taste awful. Don't cut through dear bones, either. The marrow makes the meat taste bad, and that's why most people think dear and javelina meat don't taste good. It's delicious, but you have to do everything right.

The reason that you use a call is the mimic the sound of one of their piglets and stress I hunt Havelina every year down here in Arizona they are the most fun in my opinion to hunt with a bow

In Arizona they like pumpkin and will eat the jackolanterns we put out at Halloween. I have some great pictures of a dozen or so standing outside my front door and on my back porch. I figure if shit goes down I at least have dinner for a while. Although they don't taste very good.

I live on the Indian Res. There are a bunch of boar out there. Hunting on a dirt bike with a handgun... Would be great sport.

We were in Los Angeles tx Bob cat hunting. And my dad made me stay in the back of the truck. I was 13 . Just turned 13. And he said javolinas are bad here son. While sitting in the back on the skyline, I saw the bobcat run by then dad's hound dog Chiseler, and then right behind her a pack of javolinas. Freaked me out. But dad came right behind them . Next I heard. Was shots squeals barking and growling, and then dad coming with chiseler on a leash and the bobcat over his shoulder. And saying that is the end of hunting cat here. Those sobs are insane.
I'll never forget that, I'm 64 now.
