You need to elevate the back of your laptop, because the fans instake are at the bottom and if you use it flat on the table the laptop is not gonna get enough air and couldn't cool properly. The thing with the monitor is because of Optimus, the integrated gpu on your laptop reroute the signal trough it and then send it to the Dgpu that causes latency and lower FPS, you can achieve the same result disabling your Igpu in the bios or in the Lenovo software itself.
