Whenever i want to apply the 3 month detailing product, I repaint my car first in an air sealed room and put 5 inches of top coat on top of my regular top coat.

Best detailing channel, short but very informative, straight to the point!

“How do I keep my car clean between washes?

You don’t.”

Thanks Todd for being blunt. Seems obvious to some of us but not the majority.

100% agree with you, it's really common sense, too... Without rinsing off the dirt/ sand/ etc on the car, we're always going to rub that crap against the car during "quick detailing". I only reserve use of detailers only after car wash and also to clean off bird poop/ bugs (after letting it sit for a few minutes then a gentle one direction wipe on my matte car)

Thanks Todd for breaking the myth that you can use Detail Sprays in between washes or to remove light dust from the paint surface. In all the videos that I have seen, you are the only person that has said not to use a detailing spray in between washes. Use it after the car has been washed as a drying aid or after the car has been dried.

Yup!
Finally some real info!! NOTHING beats water and soap! I clean my car once a week and been doing so for 13 years. The only marks it has are stone chips and an occasional scratch which are all what I like to call "battle scars"
I use QED only after a wash and have it in the back of my car to remove bird poo, but then I saturate it A LOT more than required.
Bird poo is much more dangerous than a few swirls! Ask me how I know 😓

Thanks again Todd for another informative video. Using a spray detailer on an unwashed car is the same as using one of those car dusters, where you run the car duster over the dirt and spread the dirt over your paint.

Thought this would be click bait but was presented by a educated and passionate detailer!

At last, I found a video with the same thought as mine... Quik Detailer still has big risk of scratching the paint.. there's still dirt particles that dragged by the microfiber towel accross the surface although it has detailer lubrication with it. I usually use QD after a wash to touch up the gloss and protection. I always have a bottle of QD stand by in my car to be able to clean something quikly such as bird poo, tree sap for spot cleaning, but not a full car or a panel cleaning though..

THANK YOU FOR THIS! Finally! Someone that tells it like it is! I tell people to leave their cars DIRTY! The look they give me is like I am stupid. I use Polish Angel High Gloss as my QD and LOVE IT! It's pricey but worth it! KEEP ON ROCKING!

I’m not trying to win 1st place at a car show with my Daly driver, but it stays outside and every morning it’s soaking wet from the morning dew, I just rinse, drive to work, do a quick wipe down with quick detailer and it looks great! No swirls or scratches, I flip the rag a lot and shake it off constantly. Yes I’m the crazy guy who keeps his truck super clean, that everyone either complements or ridiculed for how clean and shiny it is Lol.

But if I don't mess up my clear coat, then I've got no use for my polisher, pads, etc.
What kind of fun is that?...

I carry 8 clean edgeless plush towels in a closed container, 3 waffle weave towels in another container, 1 55oz pump sprayer with DI water, ONR and 3D Bead it up and another container for the dirty towels in the trunk. I always do a waterless wash every Friday after work. While not the same as a quick detailer but ONR used correctly with proper technique can be done when you arrive to the show. When I go mountain biking I bring my dewalt power cleaner and syphon water from a gallon of water to remove the heavy dirt and then finish with ONR wash 👍

I use quick detailer spray from Griot’s & Meguiar’s ... same deal here. I don’t use the sprays if my vehicles have been sitting for a while, because you can literally hear the dust, pollen, & grime being scraped across the paint ... big NO NO!

I only use my quick detailer to clean my door jambs, and I never let them get very dirty.

I use quick detailer on my motorcycle because I don't like hosing it down on the regular. Water gets places where it should't be and I end up with corrosion in hard to reach places. I polish the tank and the fenders with some compound every couple years and it very easily removes the light scratches. Overall I think this method keeps the bike looking fresher than if I washed it all the time.

My between washes solution for dust typically is a quick rinse followed by using pressurized air to dry the car.
