Hey guys I just wanna clear something up, the point of the video is to educate people who tend to buy products like this expecting to have to do zero drying with a typical carwash. I understand deionized water doesn't leave spots, but the average vehicle owner washing at home probably doesn't have a DI system at their house. Thanks for all the great comments!

Everyone in the comments is missing the point. This has zero to do with soap or water. The big take away is to just dry your damn car.

It's not the soap, it's the hard water that leaves the water spots

I really do not care about water spots at all. if it rains even once, you have them. And if there is a bit of dust in the air, you have spots even from morning dew. In my experience, a perfectly clean car lasts just 1-2 days. Thats with all the expensive wax and protective bullshit on it too.

If you have a system setup to use soft water, then you actually will get spot free drying. That’s why no soap can offer you that because it has to do with the water used to rinse with. Not the soap.

Deionized water doesn’t leave spots. It’s similar to a water softener. The detail shop I used to work for had a di tank. You can get away with using cheap soap with good water.

I detail cars for a living. Use Optimum No Rinse. One cap per bucket of water, still gotta dry it but helps so much.

Spot free happens with tap water. Distilled or soft water leaves no spots. Has nothing to do with the soap.

A tip I use to dry my car especially in the sun, I use one of those big drying towels, I use one corner to run off the water and the other corner to dry off the same spot to be spotless. Then switch corners when I dry off the other side

I’m a big believer in rinseless wash for many reasons. Amongst this; the rinseless neutralizes minerals in your water.
But a good tip!

I can relate as I often use heavy duty truck wash often and still get spots, you NEED to dry by hand or no matter what you get the spots

I just drive my car for like 10 minutes after I wash it and I don’t notice any water spots. I might just not notice them. But that seems to get most of them and it’s been working for me

I never saw anything on the bottle telling you that you don’t need to dry the car, it just says spot free but it doesn’t say no need to dry the car
