Looks good. I would put the bottle nail in the lip of the board so you only have to do half the filling and sanding.

Have always loved doing this on accent walls and including a vaulted ceiling. Adds so much character to the design of a room.
Great job as always Josh 👍🏻

You can use a circular saw with perfect lines if you do not have a miter saw. Just use a quick square on your cuts as a guide. I usually use a piece of painter tap on my cut line as well to prevent any chipping of the finish.

I was just thinking on doing this on top of my fireplace. Perfect timing. Thanks!

Ficou lindo, amo! Absolutely gorgeous. It is noticeable how your love what you do from your highly detail explanation. Thank you, Mr.

Love your advice here. I'll be doing this soon. The only thing I would change is the lines between the boards. I would just alternate it every row. Less cuts the better. Your way there's more cuts. I get why you did it.

I have a couple of questions:
1) What if the wall is slightly bowed out?

2) Also, would you still need to stagger the lines if you had a space that was 6 ft across? My thought would be to cut all of the boards to 6 ft and install.

Everything looks good. Except you don't just nail all over the face of the boards. You mark your studs, then put power grab adhesive on the back of the board, then only nail through the lip that will be covered. If absolutely necessary, you can pin nail the top bord to the lip underneath. Why would you want to see all of the nails? Even if you're using finish nails. You'll need to fill and sand every one. Also, you must put a box extension/spark shield on the outlet boxes. It's code.

Need to add a spark guard around that plug per code. "ARLINGTON BE1 SINGLE-GANG BOX EXTENDER". Looks and turned out great, like the style, looks expensive though.

Working with wood is a wonderful and easy thing, especially electricity here in Africa or Europe, everything is on clay and concrete

Excellent video. I’m doing shiplap install this week. I was concerned about all those nail holes bc despite spackling them and sanding, you may still see them after paint is applied. Are you gonna add base mould and side mould (verticals) to this wall? Nice job. 👍

Well done Josh. I do like the black, not sure what the boss will say. We are building our own home this summer and I will be using a lot of your excellent tips. I know we talked about doing one wall in our kitchen Shiplap. Not sure if it will be while or a colour. Thanks for taking the time to explain everything so well.

Great video! If you were installing shiplap around a door, would you take the door off and put in a new jamb or would you just extend the current jamb somehow? Thanks.

Found you channel by looking for bathroom renovations and I glad I came across you videos. Love the work you do! Could you do a tutorial on changing bullnose corners to square corner beads?

Before installing it's probably a good idea to paint the wall behind with one coat just to be safe.
