It is waterproof. The waterproof liner is underneath the cloth material. Do the same thing and look at your sock it will be perfectly dry. Look up how Gore-Tex works in shoes.

They’re water resistant, not water proof. If you want water proof, wear 100% rubber or something similar. These are made with gore-tex, which beads water and lets it glide off the outer layers. Water beading on the surface doesn’t mean it’s not water resistant, since that’s what it’s designed to do. I recommend learning more about how gore-tex works before claiming it doesn’t work.
