Technically, the kid who collects Spider-Man was adapted in Spider-Man Lotus but we do not talk about that.

One of things I love about Spider-Man is that he always looks after the little guy.

The real most underrated Spider-Man film is homecoming.
-you see his relationship with aunt may, and the scene where they’re just getting ready for the homecoming dance, Peter learning to tie a tie, etc, represents how May is really all he had.
-you see how down to earth he is, asking people on the train station if they’re good, helping an old lady with directions, or writing notes on a stolen bike
-he doesn’t wanna tell max about his identity because 8 months prior his uncle died
-he (a 15yr boy) had to accept embarrassment at a party instead of saying he knew a celebrity, he missed out on hanging with his crush to go track vulture, then proceeded to miss his homecoming with his crush for the same reason
-by the end he ruined her life because of putting her dad in prison
-and to conclude even after spending that entire time trying to prove himself, and even when given the chance to live with the biggest celebrities on the planet, live in a big ass upstate ny compound, with all the state of the art luxury etc, that same broke 15yo boy from queens decided to stay and fight for the little guy and stay friendly neighborhood

Homecoming is my favorite Spider-Man movie oat, it’s not trying to be the best, just genuine to the character. It’s sad that it doesn’t get the love it deserves, and it shows who *really* understands the character and the fundamentals of what it means to be Spider-Man. It doesn’t need to have Peter lose a job or have someone hate him for life to show the weight of his identity, sometimes he just can’t hangout like he wants to. It doesn’t need to have Peter explicitly mention Ben, if u look closely you can see the references dating back to civil war. But people mistake subtly for absence. Uncle Ben does exist, He does have money problems, he can’t be a normal teenager. These aspects were always there, most just didn’t look, and just called him iron boy jr

“It’s really surprising we’ve never seen this adapted in live action!”

I think more spidey movies should do this, because it really highlights the "friendly neighborhood" part of spidey. And it was really nice to see it in tasm 2.

Definitely one of the best scenes in TASM 2

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks this was one of the best scenes that 100% describes my love for the character.

I feel really bad how I saw the Andrew when his movies were out, because after I grew up and started to appreciate all adaptations of Spiderman and appreciate their differences is when I started loving Andrew's version. Now, I still hate his movies because, to me, it's just hard to watch with all the problems I have with them. But his movies honestly have some of the best Spiderman scenes out of the live action movies. This scene with the kid in TASM2, the bridge scene with the son and dad, and the crane scene in TASM all scream, SPIDERMAN! Taking his mask off and being a nice guy encouraging the boy to climb the car is so Spiderman, the city coming together to align the cranes so he can swing while he's injured but pushes through because the city needs him so Spiderman, and helping a child from bullies, fixing his science project with his webs, and walking him home is SPIDERMAN! They really understand the character! Until the movie and plot just pisses me off! His blood only affecting Peter in the right way is just unnecessary. In TASM, becoming Spiderman for revenge annoys me, and the cut scenes just waters down the Lizard so much. The mystery of his parents got me so intrigued in the beginning, but goes nowhere and is only there to set up future movies so obviously. TASM2 is not underrated because the plot of everything surrounding it is so messy, jumbled, and too much set up for spin offs it just feels like a 2 hour long commercial. So, while Andrew and all the actors did a fantastic job and he will now forever be one of my favorite Spidermen with some of the best Spiderman scenes, the TASM films are still just messy films that feel like they were only made for spin off movies just so Sony could keep the rights to Spiderman and they ultimately failed. It had so much potential, and Andrew did an AMAZING job, but it was too messy and thrown together for the wrong reasons imo. If you love them good for you, and I am grateful the world got to see Andrew's Spidey and he deserves to be in Spiderman history along with his Amazing scenes

One of the reasons i didn't like that he was so young in the MCU Spiderman trilogy. It was kind of jarring, especially after his debut in Civil War. He seemed less mature and competent. Like they focused way too much on treating him like a kid that they forgot the Man part of Spiderman. He didn't really have any moments like Spiderman interacting with kids in the Raimi trilogy or that one scene in Amazing Spiderman 2.

This scene wouldn't have happened if Avi Arad didn't change the tone on account of Kevin Feige's success with The Avengers.
