- his universe almost got invaded by spider-man villains from other verse.
- Everyone doesn’t know who Peter Parker is which is 10x worse then if Peter just let Strange do the spell where a few still got to know him

Dr. Strange lost because he got cocky. He knew he was so powerful that only the most powerful beings in the multiverse could win against him in the Mirror Dimension, so he thought a kid with bug powers that let him swing around shooting spiderwebs wouldn't even be warmup material, and he completely overlooked Peter's Spider sense and strong mind. He could've won if he'd taken him seriously.

When you think about it, all the events in this movie could have been avoided if Peter had just clarified, or wrote down on a list, who he wanted to remember him before the spell was cast.
