On the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia sits a spectacular waterfall, the Victoria Falls. At the top of this waterfall is a playground for daredevils, aptly named the Devil’s Pool. Only a few brave souls are willing to swim in the Devil’s Pool. To access this waterfall swimming hole, you’ll need to take a boat trip, cross the Zambezi River and keep watch for crocodiles and hippos. Once you get to the Devil’s Pool, it’s a long way down if you go over the edge. Would you take the plunge?

As a Zambian, I’ll let you know that 90percent of people who swim there are tourists the other percent is 5 for the guide and 5 for the crazy one’s 😂😂😂 the rest of as just go see the falls and take pictures and stay at the very far end from the edge .but it’s really a beautiful place and there is so much more to do and see Zambia is a beautiful and friendly country 🥰❤️❤️

Watch this video from my hotel room in Zimbabwe this morning. My wife and I went to The Devils Pool at 2pm and it was great! Meal served after. Tons of great pics with new friends.

Swam across waist high water to get to the pool. 60 second swimming. Ropes are in the water if you prefer to use them. No hippos, no leeches, no crocs. This video hyped up the fear way too much.

There was a 70 years old Indian couple in front of us who completed it all.

I imagine that one day with constant water flow causing erosion, the "wall" of the pool will eventually fail and collapse. Make sure that's not the day you visit....😅

I did the boat ride then swam a bit to the Devil's Pool.
I am a bit handicapped and 76 yrs, still I loved every minute of it!

Why people always consistently want to challenge death to a duel.. has always been the question that is so difficult to answer.. one slip.. and there's no more

I was out as soon as he got to the throwing rocks to ensure there weren't hippos or crocs. Nope, not I

I would never...ever....EVER swim or wade across an African river that has crocodiles or hippos in it. Even if there were not visible at the time

Watching those people crossing the river.. reminds me of the great migration with herds of wildebeest, crocodiles 🐊 waiting to ambush its prey! I'll leave that adventure for the thrill seekers. 😉

I make it a point not to swim (or indeed go) anywhere with Devil, Hell, Dead, Damned, Death etc in the title. Cave of Death, Hells Mouth, Devils Pool, Forest of the Damned. Nope. All off limits for me, because I like to stay alive.

I find everything else scarier than the pool itself

I have been to The Devils Pool and let me tell you, with so many crocs and hippos in the mighty Zambezi River, you DO NOT swim out to the devils pool.

Also for those who are interested, The Devils Pool is accessible only from Zambia so you really do need to book a Ranger to escort you to Livingstone Island.
