Woodturning a wooden menhir !! Ξυλότορνος : Κατασκευή ξύλινου Μενίρ !

This week i was liκe to try something that i found on internet and i think that is really interesting ! I make a wooden Menhir out of eucalyptus wood ! is really funny and easy project and now i try to find bigger wood so make one bigger Menhir ! i hope you find it also interesting and try to make one of that !!!

Αυτή την εβδομάδα ήθελα να δοκιμάσω κάτι που βρήκα στο Ίντερνετ και μου φάνηκε ενδιαφέρων ! Κατασκεύασα λοιπόν ένα Μενίρ από ξύλο ευκάλυπτου ! Ήταν αρκετά διασκεδαστικό και μια φόρμα που μπορεί να μπει σε αρκετές συνθέσεις ! τώρα ψάχνω ξύλο για να φτιάξω ένα πολύ μεγαλύτερο ! ελπίζω να το βρήκατε και εσείς ενδιαφέρων και να δοκιμάσετε να φτιάξετε ένα !!!

I like the dark features you mentioned, but I mostly appreciate the shape of the light colored ring that makes an interesting pattern along the middle of the piece. We both appreciate nature's artistry. I always felt that the natural woodturner's job is to reveal the beauty within and let the wood speak for itself.

I try to learn something new every day and today, I learned what a menhir is. Very cool project, Kostas! Love your use of driftwood for the base. Plus, easy enough that even I could do it! LOL!
