"The answer can be so revealing," says CNBC contributor Suzy Welch. As a hiring manager it's helps you learn about how a candidate approaches responsibilities. If you're the candidate, it's an opportunity to stand out from other applicants.

"What did you do to prepare for this interview" is the most important job interview question. In the past, Welch has hired candidates who made an extra effort to prepare, doing ample research on Welch and her professional history beforehand.

Would that make you sound desperate, and employer would love to under pay a desperate person, wouldn’t he?

This is stupid. I don't care about the history of the company. I would just want to know my job duties, hours, pay, benefits.
I hate when employers don't put hours, pay, benefits in job listings. That's the main thing people want to know.
So if you do interview with them, it can be a waste of your time once they do tell you the pay, and it is below what you would be expecting for that job.

This is garbage. Good candidates have options. Companies should be fighting for those candidates, not the other way around. So good candidates do not research your company. Sure, you hired a candidate that really wanted to work for your company and did some preparation for an interview. But you did not hire the best candidate, you hired the most determined candidate.
So no, this is not a killer question. This is pure garbage.

I don’t know...the reason very reason she hired that person could be perceived as stalkerish 😏🤨.... it’s all about perception...
