Joe Pesci could play someone 7’ tall and get away with it.

Tommy was always crazy. He was first locked up at eleven and was doing hits for mob bosses when he was sixteen. Hits never bothered Tommy, it was all business. But what Tommy really loved to do, what he really loved to do was shine shoes, I mean he actually enjoyed it! He'd walk in the door and everyone who worked the room would go wild. He'd shine the doorman's shoes just for opening the door. He'd whip out his shine box and shine the shoes of the dealers who ran the games. He'd even give a spit shine to the bartender just for keeping the ice cubes cold.

Yeah, he's evil, but he's also a funny guy.

Pesci's delivery of the line, "I didn't mean to get blood on your floor..." is when you can see how broken he really is.
When Spider tells him to go f**k himself, it's the way Pesci looks at how his friends react first, before he shoots. Just like a kid. A truly stellar performance.

Goodfellas without Tommy would be like Pizza without sauce.

His personality injects the darkness into the film and gives the audience a genuine glimpse into the ruthless and unpredictable nature of the mob.

A little known fact about goodfellas: Tommy shot spider because he sat on tommy's dog, the main theory is that the dog crawled under spider for warmth

Nothing sums up mafia life better than the infamous "what do you mean I'm funny?" scene (which did happen, by the way). There are no real friends; there are only people who haven't tried to kill you yet...and your death could just as easily come with a hug and smile as it could with a brutal, torturous explosion of violence.

Joe Pesci is such an incredible actor. From roles so different like home alone goofy burglar then roles like tommy I mean wow. Joe Pesci makes it so believable of a savage sadistic and heartless mafia member with no regard to human life it is really crazy how amazing he actually is

The Wet Bandits from Home Alone would make a great April Fool's episode.

With the Spider killing it almost seemed that Tommy was going to let it slide, until Jimmy goaded him into killing Spider.
With all the killings it seems at the end of the story that Henry Hill still missed the life. After he died his GF said "He went out pretty peacefully, for a goodfella."

Everything evil tommy ever did can be excused by the “funny how” scene and him mocking Karen’s mom. Has me in tears every time

It's scary to think someone like Tommy really did exist. Going by his crimes, he goes beyond just crazy, he was like a demon in human skin.

I hope you cover Nicky from Casino, and his real world counterpart some time. Awesome channel!

Micheal Franscieze said guys like Tommy didn't grow old, and nobody ever shed a tear for them when they got whacked

In my 33 years of loving "Goodfellas", I've always known Tommy was evil. But never thought of him as evil.

I have a friend who grew up in East New York and went to elementary and junior high school with Tommy DeSimone. My friend said one day at school, Tommy DeSimone pushed one of his teachers down a flight of stairs. He was around 13 years old when he did it.

It's nice to see your take on a classic, because there's a new perspective and insight, and the focus on evil for the character and the evil in context is great. Really well made channel deserving its growth.

I just want to say that the clown scene in Goodfellas is still one of the greatest movie scenes of all time. Thank you, that is all.

I know Nick from HistoryBuffs says he likes this movie because it *doesn't* glamorize who these mobsters were, and Tony and other characters were the perfect example.

When you become so scary and terrifying that even the most scary people in the world want you gone.

"He's gone. Yeah you know, gone. He had to go."
