You can adjust the latches and strikers on the door to make the door close.

As someone who installs these for a living, it almost looks like that door skirt is not the correct one for that truck. The cap is supposed to not touch the bed of the truck. The double bulb neoprene seal that comes pre-attached to the cap does the seal and the skirted edge is only supposed to hide the plastic bed rails. We have had folks who have bought caps used, pushed the Caps too far forward and it eats into their bed and doesn't seal properly at the front because it's not sitting properly on the truck.

That being said, I'm only going but what I can glance in this video. I could be mistaken on it being the wrong door skirt

My son had a 30 year old topper that had a very few leaks. He bought a new Leer for 2500 dollars and it leaks like hell. Took it back three times and it still leaks. Damn piss poor product and installers.

I thought they always leaked and aren't supposed to be sealed like a trunk. Mine leaks like a mfer and I was pissed cause I wanted to go camping in the pouring rain. Had to put trash bags over my bed lol

ARE Evo was installed this same way but I was told they won't push it up close because I have a nice new truck and if I slap the brakes in the first few weeks of having that lid insurance and it scratches or dents my truck I might try and place blame on them. I took it home and loosened the clamps, pushed up in the center of the lid with my back and slid it into place myself. Had to change the door setting but it works and looks as it should now.

i bought 2 used shells and both leaked, and i bought a brand new leer and paid $4k installed and it leaks too. These truck toppers are not fit for all trucks, they do they best they can. If you want a topper sealed you have to do it yourself, and it takes time to deal with rain and other issues to find out what's giving you problems. i had to put a rubber seal on that back plastic piece that touches the tailgate, because the plastic was scratching the paint on the tailgate.

Did anyone else think this guy looks like Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds had a baby.

Did you use and additional weather strip or spacer between the cap and bed top? Thanks

Yeah my leer cap sucks too. Side windows don’t close all the way either

My bet is top hinges are assembled improperly, or you need to put a few washers on there to buffet hours

I put one layer of weather stripping down then a 1/2” piece of garage door weather strip (pvc) then another layer of weather strip to clear that goofy humped up bowed out tailgate . Why Dodge done that is beyond me. Still have to put something on the top of the tailgate so it seals.

So... it's a manufacturer design error? Or... wrong topper for wrong truck brand? Or... what?

I was just reading that leer actually doesn't have a topper for a 2010 dodge 2500

I’m pretty sure it’s designed to sit that way in the corners so it doesn’t rub on the pain.
