Great basic setup! I actually did this during several blackouts too . During the Texas snow Armageddon a few years ago . One week without power luckily I had just purchased my beginning of a solar system. Had two 100amp hr batteries plus 200 watts of solar at the time . I cooked for the family plus had lights and watched tv . Had natural gas heated my home in fire place . Was very comfortable the whole time

Great video! This really demonstrated how you can get electricity for less cost than buying a power station. Especially if your microwave pulls 1600 watts you can simply get an inverter with a higher capacity. I have 2 power stations and I like them however I paid a lot and this alternative is a great recommendation. Way to go!

Small investment for a peace of mind. I like the dual 12 volt socket adapter. I have several 12 volt fridges that would work great with. Thanks and take care.

Thank you thank you thank you... expat online teacher living with unstable grid conditions during summer months. This will be a life saver just to keep my wifi going and laptop charged in a powercut/blackout situation.

Third day of rain 🌧️, clouds and no Sun 🌞. Rain again tomorrow. The three batteries I got from your link are at 26.1 volts.

Hey LaMar, great video! As someone with pretty much zero experience in setting up any kind of system, things like this can be confusing and intimidating. But this is a really easy and straightforward way to set stuff up. Not only great as an emergency backup, but also a good way for someone to gain experience and learn about how some of this equipment works. Really looking forward to part 2!

I do have a quick question. How much will the battery drain on its own over time if it's unhooked and stored? How often would you recommend checking the charge and maybe topping it off to keep it at 100%?

Thanks again for all the great videos and information!

Really helpful video!
Have sent it to a few family members.

Any idea when part 2 will be coming out?

I ordered the battery/inverter you recommended and am looking to see what solar panels you’d recommend.

Do those inverters need to be grounded ?

that's a smart set-up... I have a question, I bought a 1200w/h [ LifeP04 ] ''solar generator'' [ a power station and a 200w foldable panel] 200w is the max input for the station, but I needed an alternative way to charge it, so I just [today] ordered a wind generator, for the cloudy days, the smallest vertical I found is a 400w... the seller told me that it can charge my station, but what do you think?... will it work okay, or not?... the wind generator comes with a controller, do I need the controller to be connected?... and if yes, can the controller make sure that max 200w will go to my system?... I really have no clue... it shows...

I have that same inverter but haven't used it much since I haven't built my shed that I want to power yet. How many watts is that microwave of yours Lamar? And how well do you like that inverter?
