I was in 1st or 2nd grade when the guidance counselor pulled me into her office to ask if I was getting enough sleep cuz I looked soooo tired all the time. I told her that I had gone to bed early the night before and slept the whole night. Which was basically 9-10 hours. So obviously I felt fine! But it did leave me feeling self-conscious about my undereyes until I learned that it was hereditary when I was 20

Yeah mine is hereditary too unfortunately, nothing to be done about it. I remember being asked so many times if I slept well (which I do) everyone in my family has these dark circles, and we have slightly deeper set eyes, so that doesn't help. It also looks like I've passed this gene to my 7 month old daughter, poor thing.

There’s a 3rd and 4th reason why someone may think they have dark circles…3) natural hollowing that comes with aging in some people, and 4) in other people, having chubby cheeks can sometimes cause the under eye area to look depressed in comparison (and also make the nasolabial folds more pronounced), creating a shadow. I’ve personally experienced the last one when I gained weight, they went away when I lost 8 pounds and my face slimmed down.

Or a shadow of eyebags made of fat. Not just congestion etc. I've always had eyebags since my mid teens and it's fat not puffiness, they don't go away or get better with less salt, cold patches etc fatty eyebags are NOT just on older people

Problem is that one usually rubs their eyes excessively, of they are congested, so it is a 2 for 1 type of a deal going on 😢

I know my dark circles are genetic bc there's school pictures of me in elementary school rocking those dark circles

Hi !, I have found that low dose (0.01%) tretinoin works wonderfully for thickening up my under eyes. Not perfect but it really helped me. I’ve got type 1 shadowing (according to your vlog) blue veins and and thin pale skin. My veins used to show right through my under eye. I thought I would need surgery !

I have blue-ish under eyes (due to thin skin I think) and honestly I have no idea how or even if I can get rid of them 😭

Mine are due to allergies for sure (hay fever from March to September every year). I end up with really puffy eyes, even if I use eyedrops for my allergies and take my medication too.

I would say take sugar out of your diet ... when I fasted my body changed, I realized the food we eat has a lot to do with it

I’ve had dark circles since forever…..I have tried everything but I’m stuck with them, making me look tired and what not. But recently, I discovered an Indian brand, started by an Indian actress, who has genetic hyperpigmentation issues - Hyphen. One of her serums for hyperpigmentation, has made a big difference in just 2 nights !

Since I was a kid, I always have eyebags when smiling & shadow under my eyes even when I wasn't tired. Just tried the simple test & I can see subtle shadow. I guess mine is genetics/hereditary.
