Pros and Cons of Day Trading Versus Swing Trading
1) Do you have the time to be a day trader? Can you operate with a screen in front of you most of the times? (although of course this also tempts you to overtrade)
2) Can you sleep at night with an open position?
3) Can you set your limits/stops and let it play out? Swing trading relies on you setting your limits and stops and then do something else. i.e. the execution is normally done automatically.
4) Do you have the capital to day trade? To make more money from small market movements you normally have to trade in bigger size.
5) Are you comfortable with risk?

I tried day trading but found it very stressful chasing all the small opportunities in order to make a decent return. Swing trading for me is true heaven, I do the research, put on the trade, set my S/L and T/P - and simply let it run. Some weeks I don't even look at the positions for entire days in a row. The key though is to 100% honor your strategy & stop losses whatever happens, because tweaking them in-trade is very dangerous considering the amounts involved.

1- Do Swing trading needs a decent knowledge of fundamental, which is not so necessary in day trading?
2- I think after a decent time experience in day trading one can start Swing trading because it is more like investing. And day trading gives us Feedback faster for correcting our strategy. Am I right?

SWING TRADING !!!! I lost my ass in day trading. No time to think, it moves very very quickly. Swing trading allows you to think and plot your moves. If you are a very analytical mind..swing trading works best. BUT, different strokes for different folks. You have to find out what works best for you.

I find overcoming commissions almost impossible scalping and daytrading. Part of that is just overtrading too. Those commissions and slippage do add up though.

The algorithm trading domainates the day trading business.  Retail traders are not given opportunity to make money.  Most of day traders lose money and their health.  The winners are the big players who make money by means of organized computer trading and huge capital and high leverage.  Retail investors had better do swing trading and take up other projects as well.

Swing trading is better for me, I thinks its a little more productive, practical and relaxed, scalping and day trading is a little more stressful because of the expectation you set on your self with very short time frames

I much prefer swing trading options on the new york stock exchange from the uk

The benefits are you can have a lay in lol

The time zone works great plus you trade less especially when trading options which can be a month long trade so you may only make 5-10 trades in 4 weeks etc

Hidden psychological issues will play out in day trading guaranteed. If 90% people lose or don’t make any money and trading is 90% psychology, then there is an evident connection. In the other hand, you don’t need too many swing trades per year to double your account.
