Happening now: JD Vance speaks on crime at campaign event in Wisconsin

Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) will appear at a campaign event Tuesday afternoon in Kenosha, Wis., that is focused on crime.

The Trump-Vance campaign has used law and order as a theme to contrast their own agenda with the record of the Biden administration, which they characterize as “weak.”

Vance’s Tuesday event comes just days after he also addressed the issue of crime in a speech to the Milwaukee Police Association, which has endorsed former President Trump in this year’s election.

All the attention given to Wisconsin voters this summer underscores the fact that one month after the state hosted the Republican National Convention, its electoral votes remain up for grabs.
