Fun fact: Sifu is entirely built on a lesser-known style of Chinese kung fu called Pak Mei. Similar to Wing Chun, also a Southern style of kung fu, but with much more movement. There's videos of the the guy who did the Sifu mocap everywhere.

Finally Gemma and Noah together again! And reacting to one of the sickest games!

The devs actually worked with a french master of Pak Mei Kung Fu (sometimes also spelled Bak Mei), in order to create the moves.
The guy studied the fighting style in China for several years under the leading grandmaster and was officially certified as an instructor.
The idea was to use as many legit techniques for the game as possible and they did lots of mo-cap with said master.

The fact that Noah isn't wrong about fans wanting to offer themselves to get kicked by Gemma (myself included) is hilarious.

I love how hype they were for this. I kinda wish they would've shown them the second stage of the museum boss fight.

*SIFU is a really hard game, especially when you start (and that comes from an old school gamer). But it's one of the most rewarding game I've played in those last decades.*
It's brutal, with no concession, but the more you get good at it, the more powerful you feel. In a way, it really mimic training in a martial art, where you practice again and again until you become good at what you do. Absolutely loved it.

You could probably tell by the fighting style, animation work and artstyle, but this game was made by the same people who made Absolver, another Martial Arts game that these two reacted to in the past. I'm happy Sloclap are sticking to what they know because they really do their research and take their time making it look realistic and smooth.

One of my favorite things about this game is how the developers made it as 'a love letter' to the kungfu movies they grew up watching as kids.

I hope there's more of their reactions from this game, there's so much more for them to look at!

Nice to see them talking about this game… about the repetitive attacks - in the starting game you don’t have many moves… but as you pass levels or age you will learn new things (some abilities only can be learned at a certain age…cause as you get older you will be slower, but stronger)… I love this game and now I am trying to finish without killing the bosses (to get the good ending)

This game peaked my interest in Pak Mei and its linear attacks with precision and quickness. Thanks for covering this awesome game.

PLEASE give us another one of these with Noah and Jemma! There are a lot of combos and set design that we didn't see in this. I absolutely love this game, and love seeing the professional viewpoint of Sifu. Please give us another one of these.

I've been waiting for their take on this game

I studied Kung Fu for years. Three star training literally turned my forearms into wood. Aided of course by the mystical Jow.

I like that this game focuses on the movements and animations FAR more than on the graphics. I honestly wish more games would put the power at their disposal to better use than "game look pretty".

"I love the kind of woman that will actually just kill me."

There's plenty of people in the comments who would willingly volunteer for Gemma to practice her moves on, like in a full on, not holding back, break my entire spine and just end me kind of way.
