I'm an adult violin learner. Your videos like this one have saved me. The dotted qtr's and the other ones were wrecking my life. I'm working on Canon in D. Thanks man.

Thank you so much! Your lessons are very helpful for me! I started using the metronome just recently and I could not believe how hard it was and still is for me! So, it is good to know that more people have that problem. You helped me to understand how important it is to continue practicing with it. 🙏🎼

I love practicing with a metronome! I was taught that from childhood

I used to use the metronome when practicing my clarinet growing up. Now im learning the piano in my adult life (I've always wanted to learn) and im struggling counting! Playing with two hands and reading bass and tr ble cleff is so hard. The metronome was lost in the many moves so i forgot about that! I am struggling counting so much when learning the piano and there are eighth qnd sixteenth notes involved. I would absolutely love a refresher training on using the metronome and any recommendations on metronomes. I don't like the beeps, I think I'd prefer clicks.

Would you recommend learning a piece from the beginning with a metronome. So should I learn a bar with the metronome 1st before moving on. Or should I learn the piece 1st and then use the metronome to get my tempo right.

I mastered the 1+na thanks to your videos but issue is I can't count really quick when BPM is high... How do you work around it? 😭 Can only do it as quick as I can say it (not quick enough)

I think I turn on the metronome at least once in every practice session, and never persist.
Gulp, guilty as charged.
I never hesitate to click on your videos talking about rhythm since you have such a good system. That's probably because you had good teachers. There are several piano teachers on the tubes that I quit watching since they were so confusing on counting.

I love your lessons but sometimes counting. I tap, but i cannot count and play at the same time. Same with metronome….if i listen then i am missing the playing….. you lose me. I am not grasping the 1e+. I think i have watched all your videos on this. I am now in book 3…..i am not a natural but i enjoy learning piano. I am over 7o and i love my in person teacher. I play for me…no racing, tests, etc.

To me, he's playing the quarter notes, not as long as they should.
Seems like he's playing 1234
I think it should sound one and two and three and four and.
I almost think he's playing quarter note, rest, quarter note, rest quarter n ote, rest, coordinate, rest.
Everything else seems fine. I just hold the the quarter note down until I hit the next one. No space.
Like one and two and three and four and.
I mean, it's almost the same, but it just doesn't seem to hold it long enough.
I don't play my quarter, note that way.

No!!!! It drives me crazy and that’s a short trip. I tune it out and continue playing at my own errant tempo.
