I'm back in Japan for more retro game hunting! This time I'm driving across western Japan, searching Hard Off, Surugaya, and tons more tiny shops for the best prices on retro games and consoles!

Prices are based on the conversion rate at the time of filming and may be different today.

I respect these shops for not immediately throwing away broken stuff, knowing that someone will come by and buy the items to fix and enjoy. Yet again, Japan is peak.

The Tsuruya section was so cute! I hope he and his lil shop are doing fine <3
I'm going on a trip with family in a month, and while we're stuck in Tokyo (so the prices may not desirable), these are super fun to watch. Even if I might not get anything, you make Hard/Book Off hunting look fun, so I'm looking forward to doing the same. Maybe I'll just pick up an NDS.
Awesome vid! :)

I love hunting remote hard off stores. Sir you are living my dream! I have a map of like 250+ hard off/bookoff/other used stores in case I ever went to those areas

Coincidentally just a couple of days ago I checked the channel to see if I might have missed a video here, but now I realized I had the bell on as there actually is a new video... and what a nice one!

I love these retro hunting videos in Japan from you! I have to play/pause/play/pause all the time checking everything thoroughly for all these treasures. These stores are just so interesting and fascinating.
So much history and so many gems. (I'd have loved to see you test that InitialD game on stream, for example) 14:35 I'd always like to help out translating if you wanted to try these old Japanese games, but that would probably be quite slow. It was always fun when you played the good old Japanese GameBoy games on stream though :)
14:40 Shinchan spotted (17:25 another two!). Looks intriguing! Feels like in these shops you could always use another person or two next to you helping you spot and research things while browsing through the shops.
I hoep, for some games you got on your trip, we'll see some streams (probably after work in the new home has calmed down a bit) ^^
26:55 I believe I have NBA Street V3 for the gamecube, but I can't remember Mario and Luigi in it. I'll have to chech that out again! Nice find!
29:50 Super Metroid is one of my favorite games. 100$ is fairly steep, but understandable (I'd need to get a SNES first though).

Last year you went to (amongst many others) the Hard-Off in Hachioji. I went there a few months later on my first trip to Japan after more than 5 years. I hesitated a bit and didn't buy that much, but it was great fun. (16:05 I regret not buying a few things after I was already back home... Pokemon SoulSilver for example. It had a decent price. Not sure why I hesitated there).

My next trip is planned for November. This time starting in Osaka and heading to Tokyo via Hokuriku. Besides lots of sightseeing, delicious food, etc. I'm hoping to find some good retro deals as well. I'd surely love to go on a hunt with you some day :)

Awesome video again, Nick! I'm looking forward to the next one here, and of course over on the Pokemon GO channel as well. Take care 🙂

Wow, I am in Japan right now and I pulled up the old video just yesterday, which helped me find the super cool Hard Off in Kanazawa. I spent 2, 5 fun hours there today browsing the big retro games section, thanks to you. My favourite find is something I can't fit in my suitcase, a Beatmania IIDX controller lol. And now this video pops up on my feed, amazing! Watched it instantly in the hotel and I am looking into Surugaya stores next ❤🎉 Thanks so much for making these video's

As a huge anime and video game lover, Book Off was like heaven for me! I bought so much stuff there! This video reminded me of how much fun my friends and I had searching for Book Offs in Nagoya while studying abroad. Thank you! c:

This video took me by surprise and took away 45 minutes of my sleeping time, but I do not regret it.
I stopped playing Pokemon Go then dropped into Pikmin Bloom.

Nick I honestly love this style of video compared to the normal pokemon go content, I hope that maybe in the future you could post more in this channel when in and when not in Japan!
