So happy to have found this channel. Anthony was one of a very small handful of people who I could watch endlessly. When I first saw No Reservations on tv in the U.K, I’d never seen anything like it - an addictive geopolitical food/travel programme. Such a shame Anthony and Keith Floyd never hooked up for a series. I was devastated when Anthony died. I held him in very high esteem. So desperately sad - he had so much more to give, but I have to be grateful for the pleasure he gave and continues to give today 🙏

"Life starts from here. From now on is the good part" idk why but this hits deep watching it after working a whole day.

This might be one of the hungriest I've ever been watching a Parts Unknown episode.

When a master entrusts his student with the responsibility of teaching his son a particular skill or dish, it signifies that the student has surpassed the master in that area. This is one of the highest forms of recognition a student can receive, a true testament to their growth and expertise

Anthony was my all time favourite chef, his passing left a hole, this episode disguises all the troubles he had hidden .. he is missed by the people he touched, and the relationship he struck up with Masa Takayama is visual in this film.

This only reinforces my urge to go on a massive food experience over a few months. From markets, to underrated local restaurants to high end, and even try their take on western food

The Japanese has a great sense of esthetic and a Spartan minimalism in everything they do. Delicate.

That cottage with the central hearth in the mountains was beautiful. Not just aestheticly, but also for the hearth as a gathering place with local freshwater fish and game. It's like our hunt camps in Ontario.

Because I haven't owned a TV in many years, these Parts Unknown episodes are new to me! Once again, I am blown away by the quality of the production. And once again I am reminded that there is a huge hole in the world where Anthony Bourdain used to be. Masa Takayama-san is such a likable character, and his family members likewise! It really felt like I was spending time with them, which I very much enjoyed! It's only too bad I couldn't taste the food!
