Just gotta take a look at zen thumbnails 😂 Something similar happened to me in other sport I used to practice; I got the regional team uniform, and a 15yo kid, which was the top 1 in the region, made a strange face when I wore it. I obtained the uniform because I went with the regional paralympic team as an assistant coach. Our regional paralympic team won the national event. Just being there helping has been one of my biggest achievements, I put a lot of effort just to be there. It doesn't matter what others think, but actually what you did to obtain the "title". It's not the same as a Winner RLCs title or winning a gold medal, but participating in an important event and getting something for it, is something to be proud of because you actually worked hard for it. Musty is another perfect example, u know the story.

Edit: I'm not on Zen's side at all, I think he's being unreasonable and he cant take away the fact that u got the title. That's still a massive achievement.

Top 128 teams means that the top 384 to 512 players are going to get the tag. Accounting for the fact that not every SSL and GC3 is going to compete in RLCS, and the randomness at that calibre of play, it means you're going to have GC1s and GC2s running around with this tag. That means the RLCS tag means little more than being able to reach low GC.

RLCS is the pinnacle. It is the top players of the top players. It should be reserved to them and only them.

In my opinion the fact that the blue tag is so similar in color to the Pro tag is creating this entire problem, they could have come up with another color, although it is tough as they have used almost all of them, or at least make sure the Pro tag (top 16 or so ) stands out a lot. having a tag for top 128 is not a bad idea at all, i support it, it is cool.

I think its great to let bubble players get titles as it gives them progression milestones and stops them quitting the game. If there was 1 title, the esport would be dead

Making it to where you have to qualify for a regional seems fair. A lot of this games loop is having something to grind for. Other than that there’s SSL tags for tourneys and season rewards. I think there should be something for 2000+ MMR players as well. The more rare the item, the stronger the drive to achieve it

People seem to forget they used to give titles just for winning weeklies! Them giving out these titles is a step in the right direction. They should give titles for 3rd party tourneys like EWC for example

Maybe Zen could beg the devs for a color change on the RLCS Champion Tag or the ability to choose the color to make it extra special... you know using his big boy voice to make a change instead of complaining on Twitter about other people being awarded and appreciated for playing at what is STILL a very top level. And for the sake of the argument about a lot of people possibly having the tag... if the we count it for just this year and we consider top 128 3's for EU and NA, the number of people receiving the tag legitimately is 768. 768 people of 32, 771 would possibly have this specific tag...

It is literally some words under your name, who cares. Titles and cosmetics shouldn't be gate kept by elitism, players of all skill should have goals they can aim for with rewards to collect. There are more impressive titles players like Zen can try to get, there is no reason that there shouldn't be a title for top 128 etc. Congrats on the title, and remember Zen is not even an adult yet of course he is going to have a huge ego and feel like other people aren't worthy to share something he has. At the end of the day it is a video game, and everyone deserves to have nice things they can push to try and achieve, and none of it means anything just how well you play in the game matters in the end.

i like the new title systems cus there is now an in between step for low ssl's and top tier pro's, which is the new "fake blue tag" as JamaicanCoconut called it in the video. Which is more for people who are high ssl's but not quite a high tier pro

I think it the title should be given to top 32. In my opinion top 32 is where I consider the bubble pros (players who are closed to making it to those regionals). You could maybe argue this into top 64 if you consider that people can only sometimes make it into the top 32 (I still think it should be limited to top 32 though). I would still reserve the other lighter blue titles for the pros who do get amazing accomplishments, like making a major or making/winning the finals of a regional.
