Amen, while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us,
to show us the love and mercy of God

Preacher it troubles those who are proud who have the scribe and Pharisee mentality

For those of us like the publican
We say God we thank you for your mercy towards us

“And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.”
Luke 18:13

God gives all the opportunity, what will you do with that

if God didn't intervene, if God didn't in-fill, if God didn't intercede
not one of us would have had any worth at all in choosing
all we pre-Christ have gone astray, not one good

God in His great foreknowledge knew who would come around
and respond to the Good News to believe in Jesus and the mysteries of His plan
and God does have a great plan for your life,
despite culture and church ridiculing that today

We must remember, God is not careless, all is done with a purpose and reason
He choose Nebucchadnezzer, He choose Cyrus, Pilate, Pharoah, Potiphar's wife, Joseph's brothers, even Judas - they all "served" a purpose and reason ... we must not be too proud in thinking God ahem called and uses "moi"

I struggle with the doctorine of election. When God chooses is it irresistible? Rev 3:20 says " I stand at the door and knock if anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will supt with he." Does God open the door or do we? Is there scripture to back up if we have that choice? Thank you and listen to all your commentaries. Dave in WV
