I was in Japan on a business trip about a dozen years ago. My Japanese colleague and I hired a driver to take to some customers.
They were supposed to use a Crown like yours and I was excited to ride in it.
Then they show up in a Century. The Crowns big brother with a V12.
These are typically only used by politicians and mobsters.
It was winter and I was wearing a black wool topcoat and a black Fedora.
The looks that we got were priceless.

As someone who has fit a lot of those integrated style boxes over the years. Finding somewhere for the module and harnesses is always the hardest bloody part.

They were a common install for Toyota's that didnt have factory navigation for a number of years, and for caravan camera to factory screen integration too.

As an owner of a Silvia S15 and GRS204 Crown Athlete, this makes me very happy to see!
Also, love that insight you gave with the piggyback system for the touchscreen. I have a very interesting audio setup in my Crown that you two fellow audio nerds would love and I got in touch with the company in Japan that installed it and they told me that, to keep the function display unit working, they had to install my double-DIN head unit and re-wire the factory radio into the rear of the car! Without the factory radio, you apparently lose all functionality of the screen that does air con, DTV, GPS, G-book, etc.

Back in college a mate had a VIP lexus GS and he notched out the tubs and suspension mounts to get his car lower, it was also a V8 model with straight pipes, deep dish rims, the lot
