Mr Keith, I stumbled on your site and what a blessing. I just watched your video about why you will never get a medicare advantage plan. I turn 64 in October and will be signing up next year. I honestly just want the best plan they offer in my area. Torn between Medi Gap and medicare advantage until I watched that video. I live in Houma, Louisiana. I will be watching your videos for sure. My son is "The Cajun Ninja" He teaches Martial Arts, Does cooking videos, has his own Seasoning, and is coming out with a fish fry. He has over 1, 2 million followers between Face Book and You Tube. He also is coming out with a cook book in November, and yes his dad will be in it.lol

I just turned 64. Where did the time go?

Thanks for the video. As far as turning 65 but still working. I previously understood that you should still sign up for Part A a few months before 65, but no other parts. This video suggests there is nothing to do at age 65 - only when you stop working.

The reason for the six month back tracking regarding the HSA contribution is that Medicare Part A, once enrolled, provides the coverage up to the six month back tracking.

Just got my social security statement, says my retirement age is 66yrs 8 months. Then it says I must sign up for Medicare at age 65 or face severe penalties. Yet if I’m still working and under company plan then I’m not eligible for Medicare. So when I do retire I’m not eligible because I didn’t sign up at 65. Makes no sense to me

Once we've turned 65 and properly got all the Part A.B n D, how to handle the situation if we are in and out of employment(company health converge)?

Because I was uninformed… I signed up for Medicare part A when I turned 65 even though I was still working with group health insurance — because I thought it’s what you had to do. So I didn’t really worry about it until I found out after that that you cannot contribute to an HSA while signed up for Medicare. So I tried calling everybody I could at SSA to disenroll from part A. It was like pulling teeth. Then, I finally found someone to help who told me I need to fill out a form. I did this and mailed it in. I never received any acknowledgement. When I’ve gone back and checked, it still appears I’m signed up, yet I’ve been contributing to an HSA all along because I thought I was ok after sending the form in. I don’t know what else I can do. This all happened because I always heard you had to sign up for medicare when you turn 65.

Do I need to sign up for Medicare if I’m on the Oregon state health plan?

Hi Keith, , My first day of retirement is Sept 1st but I don't plan on collecting Social Security Benefits until Oct 1st or Nov 1st and this means there will be at least 1 month gap without any kind of insurance. How do I sign up for Medicare B for starting Sept 1st and still have it deducted from my monthly Social Security Benefits that will come later? Is that even Timothy

What's the difference between part b and a

Is it true that you must sign up for Medicare A and B at age 65 if you started drawing your social security retirement before age 65 regardless of whether you have credible health insurance coverage?

So you can still work and stop paying current health insurance as an individual and sign up for Medicare ?

If I sign up for Medicare 3 months before I turn 65 does it take effect then or on the day I turn 65? Thanks.

Hi, great thanks for the video. What if you are after 65 and on your spouse's work insurance (not your own). Does the same form need to be filled out by your spouse's employer to avoid penalties for your late Medicare application?

If I want to continue to work past 65 (say 67), is there anything I need to do with Medicare, or just do nothing? And then file for Medicare at 67?

If you have a HSA for 2022 and turn 65 in 2022, can you still sign up for medicare Plan A in 2022??? For example if you turn 65 in November, have HSA for 2022, when should you sign up for Medicare plan A, before November or after November??

Thanks for the great insight. I am 61 but learning from you about medicare I am self employed and pay a very low monthly premium now $52.00 but pay 20% of all medical procedures after deductible of $5, 000 per year. Will it be beneficial to keep this insurance after 65 or should I consider paying the high premiums for Medicare?

What if you don’t work, but still have a group policy through a deceased spouses work policy.
