“GST is often seen as a regressive tax. But in fact, if we look at the overall balance of what people pay and what people get, we have turned it into a very progressive system,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat during a forum on Sunday (Feb 21), where he fielded questions about the Singapore Budget 2021 statement. Speaking on the Ask the Finance Minister programme, he said Government schemes are "tilted towards supporting our lower income group".

That is why we have to be more selective on where to spend the budget, we can't just anyhow give out to all employers, we must ensure only those which promote " Singaporean Core " values will get the benefits.

How is “increasing GST” going to support those in need?

5:35. SPEAK. In the end, it's called schemes. And from what he's saying, I like. More connections through benefit servers/ co's. What is, is good-- but a lot of the butter is cold, old, flat and or nut service (more restaurant than supermarket, but even nuts/ "nuts" there). We need a respect revolution and that would look more different than it would sound.

5:45. Yes. SPEAK. It validates what is. (Not the late pig Republican or slick historical Democrat.)
