Singapore Budget 2022 forum: What is being done to support middle-income families?

Measures were announced during Singapore Budget 2022 to help cushion the impact of the rising cost of living, especially for low-wage households. But what about the middle-income? Will the Government do more for them? This is what Minister Lawrence Wong had to say in Ask the Finance Minister 2022.

Everything is bs lah. The food prices kept going up. Restaurent and hawkers anyhow anyhow up the prices. And it NEVERS comes down again. If gov really want to help and control, should open gov owned hawkers or coffee shops which sells at lower prices. So private ones dont dare to anyhow up their prices or face no business.

Hmmm wonder what entails the actual definition of middle income in the government eyes for this particular segment.My parents own a terrace house which my two brothers and I are staying under but current asset wise we are not rich my father especially now is taking probably at most 2k for the past few months.I have ocd and schizophrenia partly caused by stress and a pill I took for the schizophrenia.Its not that I don't want to work, my ocd makes even the most simplest task hard.My dad is shouldering my bills and he is near retirement age.I need help with my situation.

Is it really for economy sake or even going forward but we have situations now that is not solve yet and also the covid impact has been tremendous to many ppl life. The impact by covid is still yet to resolve or even patch into one pieces. Why must it be so soon ?
