Being cooped up in the house is getting to everybody, so we're all trying to keep ourselves busy! I gave all the boys much needed haircuts. I'm certainly not a pro; so if you are look away! LOL! I fully agree with you about being unhappy with the haircuts from the barbershop. My two boys were quite young when each received three really bad haircuts in a row at the barbershop. I was furious that the “licensed professionals “ were screwing Up their hair so bad, it was like they cut steps in their hair. My guy told me that I should get a set of clippers and he would help me, being he was already cutting my hair for me, I said I will do it. I got a good set of Wahl Designer clippers, a couple hair capes and neck strips. I watched a number of Youtube tutorials with him and when school let out, I set them up on a deck chair with a board across the arms. I started with a #6 attachment all over on my younger son, and then I tried using a #4 with the scooping action as he coached me, but I got flustered and had to hand it off to him. He finished and blended the shorter lengths on the side with the longer hair on top, then used his peanut clippers to finish the neckline and sideburns. My son had a great looking haircut. I then moved onto my older son who wanted to keep more length on top. So I used a #8 on the sides, and then tried the #6 lower before I handed it off as well. He did the shears over comb cutting on top, blended the sides and did the sideburns and neckline. I wanted to shave the sideburns up to the top of their ears, but my guy told me that would look dorky. My older son had a great haircut as well. We went to my mom’s house after the boys showered. She fawned over how great their haircuts looked, that they looked so handsome. She said it was about time that I took them somewhere else to do a better job. Then she asked in a concerned manner, about how much I had to pay to get such nice haircuts. I then informed her that we had done them at my guy’s house. She closely inspected the haircuts and asked for details of how they were done. She looked at my guy and said, you are now their barber, and told me not to take them back to the barbershop. She then starting talking about how money I would be saving. She wasn’t happy that he was cutting my hair, she thought it was a control thing. But I told her yes, I was in control as he does as I tell him, he doesn’t get scissor happy on me. Hubby gives my boys their haircuts every three weeks, it takes him about ten minutes to give each of my teen boys their haircuts. He is really good, he has cut their hair hundreds of time. He has a process, and both boys like his work. I take a seat and get my elbow length hair trimmed every couple months. So I am definitely saving a lot of money, over a grand a year and it is so convenient. My boys know the process, each gets their haircut, the other vacuums the clipping with the shop vac and then they each get a shower. My mother actually got over her issue of not wanting me to have him cut my hair, she got a bad haircut at her salon, paid too much for it and she complained about it to me. She said she would have gotten a better haircut from my hubby and it would be free. So I told her to just ask him, he will cut your hair for you as you ask. And a few months later, she did, and he trimmed her shoulder skimming bob. Suddenly she thought it was a great idea as she liked her haircut and saved $50.

Hi Ann we give our boys haircuts still and they are in their teens. Lol love that he is so upset! I remember that with mine. Joel is better about it I see. He is so cute he looks like you. Your kids are adorable! Hope you are doing good. We are going a bit stir crazy. Turned out really good you did a great job! 😊👍❤
