I agree with everything you said… the weak point is all the modifiers not the light or color. The best current modifier is the Nanlite Bowen’s projection mount which I tested with Mitch Gross to excellent results; at 10ft with 19 degree we got 2400FC…. I’m awaiting Dedo optics before jumping in on an Orion 300. I found the fresnel to be more of an intensifier with poor beam shaping and cutting and not much flood — more med to spot. The OEM while super sharp has dismal output, the Nanlite was almost 5 stops more output albeit in much larger form factor and 2x the price.

Similar color to Orbiter, ETC fos4 and Hive 675C... glad to see more fixtures using more diodes now. regarding source matching, I think manufacturers need to list SSI with these sources, otherwise it's really meaningless to just say the source, as you commented on a few of them.
