Even Placidusax is absolutely nothing compared to Midir. It’s not really a question of boss design, but just the fact that players are so much more overpowered in Elden Ring.

In terms of giving a "feel" of being powerful, Midir is definitely at the top. Looks powerful, IS powerful, is actually fun to fight, no BS, and has great setup and lore. When I first played DS3 I actually did not like it compared to DS1 or DS2 which I loved. And out of all the fights in that game, Midir is what helped me find my love for DS3. Placidusax, Fortisax, and Lanseax are definitely cool, but that coolness did not last very long for me after the first playthrough. I still like them though, and am happy they are in the game.

Midir was honestly a great boss and I always solo him every playthrough. Even help my friends with Midir since they find him so troublesome but one of my few favorite boss fights in From Software games

Honestly kalammet from DS1 was a much greater pain when compared to both of em .. especially when i wanted to cut its tail for the weapon ..😢

Considering midir was created and raised to fight and consume the abyss and eventually falling to it is was probably makes him so hard. There is so much lore implementations for midir that’s it’s crazy

Midir is a walk backwards simulator. Hes just super flashy, so people panic more, and thought he was the hardest thing ever as a result.

This has not happened in ages, but just a few months ago, I beat Midir on NG+ without ever taking damage. AND with a slow-ass pike. THAT’S how easy Midir is, but Placi-fucking-dusax, man! I feel like THIS dragon knows every single way it could end your existence right then & there, and that’s just in his 2nd phase where he’s… still slow, but pretty fucking relentless all the same.
