I’m continuing my series on the Mavic Air 2 comparing against the different DJI drones out there and todays contender is the DJI Mavic Mini. The Mavic Mini is a really fun drone to fly, with mine having over 370 flights, 50+ hours and 250+ miles, I have gotten more than my moneys worth out of this little guy. Now again, I could just list out all the specs and give you a boring comparison of these two fun drones but instead we are going to break it down into 5 different categories.

Upgrading from a Spark with the Air 2 FMC. I can't wait to not have to change the battery every 6 - 9 minutes. Was on the fence about the Mini until the Air 2 announcement. Great vlog!

Of course the mavic 2 is the winner but for me I rather the mini cause I just need something simple to take a few shots on vacation and the price is very attractive for what this lil drone could do..I don't care about 4k, raw and all the other fancy features like the mavic air 2 the only issue I might have with the mini is the weight and like you said fly away is my biggest concern..so yeah the mini is my choice maybe I'll upgrade as time goes by 😁

Thanks to Amazon return policy I returned my Mini and purchased the Air 2 after a few weeks. Loved the Mini but just wanted more range and more power.

DJI's marketing plan got me....lol....Mini showed up for Air 2 arrived this past Friday 😎. Mini will be staying around for backpacking/portability, but MA2 handles literally EVERYTHING else better and will be the primary!

I bought a mini just a week or two ago, my first drone. A small accident happened at the very first flight during landing my mistake 😔 giving a tiny crack under mini, but it's barely noticeable. Again i crashed mini on the gate of my home while learning to control and get used to the RC. But nothing wrong happened. Now after many flights, i got a bit more confident in flying the aircraft and control it.
So to all those who planning to buy a drone, try to start with mini, because anything can happen while you learn to use it, we can't guarantee the safety of it. Buy a mini, use it as long as you can, fly it, have some fun meanwhile you will become an expert drone pilot. Mini have some amazing video and photo capabilities update it and get some ND filters, maybe you will be happy with what mini can do.

This is me exactly, bought the mini as I’d never owned a drone, some 40 odd flights later I still think it’s the best thing ever and then DJI drop the air and I preordered it seconds after launch... very clever DJI, can’t wait for it to arrive now 🤣🤣

Yeah, I think DJI just got me again. I bought the mini around Christmas as a first drone and it’s been a real blast. However, the biggest gripes I have about the mini are the frequent dropped signals when I fly in or around WiFi congestion. Its performance in wind is a limitation too. Lack of obstacle avoidance is pretty scary when the signal drops in the city. Often, even outside the city with a range extender it can still drop out randomly. I mainly use my drone for photography of buildings and urban landscapes and I would like to be able to fly with greater confidence in the city. The improved signal, range, and weight of the Air 2 will be an upgrade all by itself for me. Lesson learned. Depending on what you are looking for, the Mini is definitely a great drone. It taught me to fly very, very, cautiously which helped build my flight skills without reliance on sensors. It also takes great shots and video, just not raw. Portability is amazing too.

Great video, as an owner of mavic mini for 2 months already I am very happy with my “toy” (capable of doing such amazing videos and pics). Bought it to learn the basics movements and to experience the best this product can offer. Air 2 is pretty amazing, but I’m willing to wait a bit more for the mavic 3 pro because it’s pro after all.
