I have both. I bought the mavic mini as a graduation present for myself and loved using it for learning how to fly a bigger drone than the Tello. I use the drone for family stuff and also use it to scout out areas before hiking to see if wild life is around. I then picked up the Mavic Air 2 for more videography for car videos and other adventures that I want to get better footage for and better camera pics.

Just bought the Mini fly more bundle(first drone) and I love it. I've been researching drones for two years before I bought mine. My plan is to become familiar with flying a drone with the Mini and if later I decide I need a a better camera and ability to fly further distan es (Occusync) confidently then I will upgrade to the Mavic Air 2 or Pro

I started with the Mini Fly More kit and absolutely love and I'm learning a lot with it. I also purchased the PowerVision PowerEgg X Wizard Kit, Mini seems too have a better camera and all around performs better in my opinion. The Flying Egg is fun and it has been a heck of learning curve about drones in general, the all weather feature appealed to me and that was the reason for that purchase.

I have been looking for a video like this for a while, thanx for making a clear guide with clear answers to the most common questions. Getting my mini this week.

I got my first drone 3 weeks ago. I choose the Mavic air 2. I was going for the mini but I changed my mind when I watched comparison vids on YT.
My reasoning is, "why settle for less ?".
It is indeed twice the price with the fly more combo and the Dji care refresh but we get more than twice the features with the Air 2.
I've just rendered my first "clip" ever using it.
I'm very happy with the result.

Really appreciate your videos. I just ordered an Air 2, my first drone to use for photography. I had a hard time deciding between the two, but ultimately chose the Air 2 due to the better camera. Your video’s were extremely helpful. I have a landscape/nature photography background so camera quality was key. I did seriously consider the Mini though because of how easy everyone says it is to fly. Can’t wait to try it out. Hope I don’t crash it...

I have been researching drones for quite a while now, and thought I wanted my first one to be the Mavic Air 2 or a used Mavic Pro, but you made a good argument for trying the Mavic Mini first. So, I just went out and bought the Mavic Mini fly more combo. Hopefully it will be the right one for me to learn on, and if I use it as much as I want to, then I will upgrade later. Thanks for all the good info in your videos.

I started off with the Mini and then bought the MA2. I do a lot of MTB racing and so I'm out training a lot. I can take the Mini in a cycling jersey back pocket and not know it's there. I take the phone with me anyway, so it's only the controller in addition. I use the timed shots a lot. It's great to get those shots that you couldn't get normally (I usually ride/train alone) and it's easy to fly without the sticks to save messing around with that. It's also good to see where unknown trails go without having to peddle to the end of dead ends! The MA2 needs a backpack, mostly due to the controller, but I really appreciate the "follow me" functionality and although not perfect, works really well. In fact the randomness of "parallel" has lead to some great reveal shots of landscape that I have taken credit for, that was nothing to do with me 😉. I tend to take the MA2 in the backpack when I'm going out on an easy ride and want to make a film, I'll take the mini anyway for opportunist shots and video, maybe B roll for another project. I tend to shoot in 2.7k on both, to keep some consistency in both outputs for future use. I have GoPro Session on the bike (front and rear on K-Edge mounts) and these shoot very much on the blue end of the spectrum (only 1080p on the Session), so there's always work in post to try to marry these up to the drone footage for split screen etc. I'm very much still learning, but enjoying the journey with both drones and it's added another dimension to my outings, apart from

I have both. Got the MM first then quickly realized that wind in my area played a factor of when I can and cannot fly. Really like the MA2 and it handles wind much better. Still learning all the tricks of MA2 like the track mode which is a really cool feature.

love your reviews - finding a lot of value in them as I consider getting my first drone. Thank you so much!

As always, excellent reviews and comments. I enjoyed how you asked the question FIRST in the video and then the follow-up question that people would ask you. You nailed it by cutting the chase and asking future pilots want you are going to use the drone for, and what's your budget, these are the two biggest questions.

I bought both, first the Mini, then the Air 2. The Mini was bought for its light weight, small size, price, and to learn how to fly a drone. It will be used primarily for backpacking and fly fishing. Bought the Air 2 after I got proficient with the Mini. I liked it for its more advanced capabilities, my operational familiarity with the Mini, and when weight and size aren't necessarily a concern. Will use it primarily for things like traveling by vehicle in the western backcountry and capturing landscape scenery or fly fishing action when I don't have to park far from a stream. The drone video will be mixed with my action camera video (PowerDirector 17) to create/upload videos to my YouTube channel. Each has its purpose and I'm sure I'll find other uses as well. Satisfied with both so far.

I got them both. LOVED the Mavic Mini, straight out of the box (Even bought 3 extra batteries...for a total of, 6) I love that it packs small and plays Big! So far, I have only used the Mavic Air 2, about 4 times and am not feeling the same way. I like the signal strength but not crazy about the video quality, settings, and the remote controller. And it also feels heavy in my hands. The batteries drain faster than a Wino's jug on payday. Maybe time will tell.

New to the hobby, bought the Mavic Mini. 60 days later bought the Mavic Air 2. Love the MA2 mainly because of the range. Starting to play more and more with photography. Having a blast with it. Appreciate all your info, especially with photo work. I'm learning every day.

Hello, I just bought the Mavic Air 2 and all the things I’ve heard about it it seems have the latest features from DJI. This is my first drone & I wanted to get a good one, so far I’m not disappointed it flys real easy. I think it is one of best in its class. Whatever you choose they are both good. Keep up the great videos I like your channel very informative 👍😎

Thx, FlytPath. Good comparison video. I love my MA2. Using it for hobby and play. Needed 4K specs. And MA2 holds up better in windy condition.
