I purchased the Mavic Mini last year to get my toes wet with a drone. I’ve been happy with the footage I got even before they gave us manual video control. I also bought the Mini as a stepping stone until the Pro 3 comes out. The Air 2 does look interesting. I’ll likely wait for the Pro 3 with the hopes it does come out this year .

I have a Phantom 4 Advanced Plus, which is almost the same as P4P. The only difference is that it uses an older video transmission method (which I still find works great and has a huge range) and only has forward obstacle avoidance. It is an amazing drone and for those of you that think it's difficult to fly, I will say that I find it very easy and fun to fly and I am very inexperienced pilot. And as Jevin said, it's very responsive, powerful and fast. Because it's the heaviest of the bunch, it's the most stable as well and wind has the least effect over the stability of the footage. Super easy to launch snd land from your hsnd too once you get used to it! Finally, the controller is superb, with the bright built in screen so you never have to use your phone!

great comparison, I'm still torn on whether to pull the trigger on the air 2 - anyway, it might be an "if you need this you're beyond a comparison" - but the P4P is the only one out of the lineup with a global shutter and (without hacks) switchable to attitude mode so you can truly drift around for ultra smooth motion, everything else is still trying to hold position and just hides it a little with cut down braking forces - but there is something magical about just floating.

The Mini is cool with the low cost and no need to register the drone, BUT ... the Air can handle winds better and the Ocusync 2.0 starts to tip the scale in favor of the Air. Add the other extras it has over the Mini and it's hard for me to justify going cheaper and getting so much less.
