About Michael:

As the co-founder of GiveDirectly and Segovia Technology, Michael has spent a career fighting misconceptions about poverty. GiveDirectly has been ranked a top international charity by GiveWell, and one of the top 10 most innovative companies in finance by FastCompany. Michael is also a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, and was named one of Foreign Policy’s 100 leading Global Thinkers in 2013. Prior to this, Michael received a PhD in economics from Harvard.
