When my Dad first heard the bajo, he said that the bajo fills a hole that most don't know is there, until the bajo is heard.

All my family likes the sound of it. As the non-conformer in my family, I listened to and played thrash metal. 😂😂 but it's time I learn it and wow I'm so glad I saw this video!

respect to that dude for not selling his father’s bajo to Keith Richards

Definitely curious to try one of these. I love how it's all in 4ths so any bassy chord from a standard tuned guitar will translate well.

I just got one at a pawn shop just for fun. So I'm checking out videos. I play some guitar. Good teaching.

That is a cool instrument. It sounds like Johnny Cash’s “I walk the line.” 😄

0:20 There's Guitarists who are looking for this sound and the great thing about the Jiminez Bajos is that they're built to where the neck is similar to a Guitar neck.

1:18 Just remember because it's in all fourths tuning, you should stay on the 5th Fret when tuning up.

Is there a difference between “El músico” and the “El Patron” models? Hope to hear back real soon!

They have that Bass-Baritone Voice. The Bajo Sexto looks very similar to the 12 String Guitar due to its shape but there are differences. The Neck is Shorter and meets the body at fret number 12, the body is thicker, and so are the strings which are all wound.

Keith mostly plays an open G tuning: G–D–G–B–D (low to high).
This is identical to the tuning of a Bass-Waldzither like the one I play.

You could certainly easily use the Bajo Quinto with special strings in this tuning and I think that's what Keith had in mind.
