How cool! In the early 1970's the dental instrument manufacturer I worked as an engineering technician had purchased a German made wire straightener using the same principles. I would straighten both high carbon and 402 stainless steel wire of 0.060" diameter that came from the mill. The straightening machine had a guillotine at the exit of the rolls that chopped the straighten wire into 6-inch lengths. Then I would grab a hand full of these blanks and feed them into an air operated centerless grinder to make perfectly round blanks for the many cam operated screw machines to fashion blanks for dental drills (burrs). Precision was essential and thermal lobbing the problem. I was working with typically five-thousandths inch tolerances for straightness and twice that for diameter (roundness). We used an optical comparator for quality control. You video caused this splash of memories of my past work life, I appreciated its motif. Thumbs up.

This is a fantastic video! If being a machinist doesn't work out, you've always got a backup career as a videographer. Excellent work, sir!

My favorite parts are the slow-mo shots, brief-mute shop/tool noise interludes, and where the camera pivots as/with the part's perspective. They are all timed really well to the music. Bravo.

That’s an insane amount of material removal on manual machines, and also insane amount of editing… impressive. The tool is pretty cool too.

The amount of cool editing done on this makes it look so easy but damn, this is so complex. So much work.

Cool! In the late 80’s I worked as a toolmaker and we made flat steel and round wire parts, springs and stampings, and every single one of our round wire machines, had one of these on there called a wire straightener. Basically took the cast of the wire out making it easier to form with consistency. We also had a couple of machines that the mechanism you made actually rotates, while heated wire is being pulled through it, and those things go perfectly straight. Great work!!

WOW! 1st things 1st, the editing on this video is absolutely amazing. It truly is awesome to watch. Your Machine work is great, top notch quality. I still can’t get over what a satisfying video this was to watch. And once again the editing was some of the best I’ve ever seen. Keep you the amazing content. Much love and respect from the Jersey Shore 👊🏼

After 45 years in the trade I love watching a Machinist, not a programmer, not an operator. Have fun cuz if your not it's just....work!

Impressive skills on display here. Both, as a mechanical engineer/toolmaker and videographer.
Very inspiring !

I instantly recognized this as either a pipe straightener/bender or a wire straightener/bender.
I used to work at a place that had a smaller version of this feeding wire into nail machine.
I had to make sure the wire ran through it true & straight!
The wire came out the other side straight. Then the wire fed into some dies. The dies would close to grip the Wire then a punch would come in and slam the head onto it. The finished product was a nail for a nail gun.
There is a lot more to it but, that's the just of it & that's how they straighten the wire out to be made into a nail!
Great job on the build!👍

That has to be absolutely the best fabrication video I do believe I have ever seen! I was so sick of watching people perform Fabrications with the dull step by step slow process. This gentleman deserves an award for best filmmaking! Fantastic!
