Getting Rosalie the Volvo 740 Back on the Road

After the exhaust manifold was too distorted from heat to reuse, I find a replacement and also have some struggles fixing a blow and getting the downpipe fitted correctly. The old coolant temperature sensors also prove to be an issue so after some fixes there, Rosalie the half a million km Volvo 740 wagon returns to the road.

Another brick saved by you. Nice job! Mine 940 it's doing well. Now we are in Paris crossing all the west of France without any problem carrying a big roofcase and two bikes in the rear.

I think Rosalie is starting to become my favourite project for the channnel so far, it's good to finally see this big flowery brick up and running!

This is fantastic! Miss Involvo will be very happy to finally start driving Rosalie. Would be interesting to refit the deformed manifold back onto the old head to see how the head itself deformed.

Great work! Happy to see a 740 saved. They seem to be very rare these days in the states. Flower Power!

Great to see Rosalie on the road again. Wish more older Volvo's came with AC. Believe it was an expensive option. Had a 1986 740 GLE Estate in 2002. (D795 RJW) Had the red cloth interior and red plastics. Converted the manual sunroof to electric from a 940 and fitted Virgo alloys from a 240 GLT. My first paid for car. Cost me £425.00. 2.3 B230K. Must have another go at my "P reg 940 SE LPT auto. As air conditioning has a leak at the condenser clamp. Replaced various parts a few years ago like condenser and compressor but never got it fully working for long as leaked out.

Hay man, well done getting her on the road, I feel your pain working in the heat, I managed to give myself pretty serious sun stroke working on mine last week!
