I've got to say, this tutorial taught me more in ~20 minutes than two weeks in a college class ever did! Absolutely amazing, keep it up!

For anybody seeing a mostly white render in Cycles it's because Blender switched to Filmic color space recently and this video was from before that. To fix your render, reduce each light's power by a factor of a thousand. So, the two that were 5000 should be at 5 instead. And the one at 2000 can be at 2. This was just based on trial and error, I tried just setting them to 0, since they were already that close, but it was a tad too dark. 5 and 2 seemed to work well.

Any tutorial that includes "This is a good time to save my work." knows what it's talking about.

Very good tutorials - Very clear, well scripted and (as others have observed) you explain what you are going to do ...and THEN you do it. This is incredibly important and a tip that many other tutors would do well to emulate.

As much as I admire the skill of other practitioners, many of them seem to be just "narrating" their process after the fact. I've learned substantially more from the time spent following your channel.

Thank you so much for the effort and thought that goes into these.

Amazing tutorial. With other tutorials I would spend up to 2 hours and come out with a plastic looking piece of garb. But with this, I spent in total <40 mins and go from nothing to a fully rendered image of a Hammer with textures, materials and lighting all done.

Awesome tutorials, please do more!

In my version of Blender (2.80b 2019-05-21) point lights have two parameters: "Power" (in Watts) and "Emission Strength". I was able to get the same results if I use "Power" instead of "Strength" (set Strength to 1.0 and Power to 5000W/2000W)

The best blender tutorial ever, he explains everything slowly, so that the viewers can catch up. Nice!

This channel is so underrated, this is the best blender tutorial I have seen, you go so much into detail about everything and that’s exactly what I needed, thank you!

If the lights are too blinding I found changing the strength of the lights from 5000 to 5 and 2000 to 2 works like a charm.

if your pic becomes WHITE during RENDERING..
JUST FOLLOW THE STEPS:

go to the rander properties....then..click the last option>color management...then

make EXPOSURE to -10

worked very hard to find the solution.

I haven't used any 3D softwares for almost about 8 or 9 years, but I recently wanted to pick it up again and I've felt so lost when I opened Blender.
This video and the previous one to model a hammer have been so so helpful. They're the easiest tutorials to follow and understand fully.
Bless you for this.

Absolutely amazing tutorials. I have been endlessly scrolling through so many Blender tutorials until I found yours. The best tutorial I have ever seen so far, so helpful with understanding the software. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, you are a very skilled teacher.

Thanks for this tutorial. I used Blender about 12 years ago...made some renders...decided to get back into it today and found that although Blender imported the files, a lot was broken. And I've been beating my head against the wall trying to get the textures to apply...let's just say the current documentation is way off. This is dead simple. Thank you again.
