The Issue Of Daeron The Daring In Season 2 of House Of The Dragon | HOTD Season 2 Speculation

With the youngest son of Alicent Hightower and King Viserys being introduced in season 2 of House Of The Dragon it got me questioning the logistics of adding him into the story when thus far the show has made no mention of him existing. While it makes sense to add him into season 2, doing so does come with some issues.

The Dance Of The Dragons will be the focus of the plot of the new HBO spin-off House Of The Dragon coming in 2022. So if you want to learn the story before we see HBO's take on it then this will be a very long-running series. Game Of Thrones / House of the dragon are HBO shows based on George R R Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire series. Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.

They really could have done with a throw away line or two for Daeron but ultimately glad they haven't cut him from the show. Having Daeron means we'll get to see his beautiful blue she-dragon Tessarion!
On that note sad they haven't kept with the colour-coded dragon fires. Tessarion's would be blue!
Maybe introduce Daeron in a cold open like they did in GoT with Tywin reforging Ice. He receives word of Aegon's coronation and that war has begun, prompting his reaction and bringing him into the action of the story.

I can see being introduced to Daeron and Helaena's kids more in the episode 1 celebration Aegon should be throwing for Aemond.

The introduction of Daeron will be awkward and jarring, but nothing compared to even the least egregious hundred or so crimes of GOT seasons 5-8.

I think during the Black Council meeting in Ep10 they mention the Greens having 4 dragons, I was worried since no one even mentions Daeron but I think that means he's in unless the 4th dragon is somehow someone else

I have a feeling they will handwave him due to the time skips of the first season. It's plausible that he moved to Oldtown in between the skips, but at least some dialogue for the audience in the first season would have been useful to establish he exists.

Yeah. I already thought the same thing about it being jarring. There should have been a mention of him or something around the table by Daemon or Rhaenyra when they were discussing how many dragons each side had in Episode 10.

I’ve always found it interesting that two later kings were named after him. I suppose it could be that Aegon III named his heir after Daeron as another way to help heal the divide after the Dance.

So an older cut of this video accidentally got uploaded thanks to premiere pro naming the new cut something different. This video was made back in april and never got uploaded as i was waiting for confirmation on the rumored casting that was originally mentioned in this video. I came back to the video last week and decided to remove the last 30 seconds about the rumored casting due to it being debunked. However older version of this video got uploaded due to the filenames error. I've done my best to remove that section from the video in the editor, luckily there is a natural break in the video where i could make that cut. I sometimes have my girlfriend do thumbnails if i'm to busy, so she watched the video and made a thumbnail reflecting the removed content from that video, thus why that has also been changed if anyone picked up on that. Thanks to all those who alerted me to this within the first 5 minutes of upload, due to that i was able to resolve the issue quickly. Apologies for any confusion.

So much was lacking to be honest but I know it's hard to edit and structure everything together. I think they're going to simply state he moved from KL to Oldtown earlier than twelve years old and was there for a longer period than in the books. Viserys' mind was sort of failing towards the end so it's my head canon that he forgot about Daeron when he said "my whole family" regarding and at dinner

Budget is very tight, as said by the director and producers. Cutting daeron and nettles for the first seasons makes things more streamline

I know not every adaptation can’t be 100%. But I do hope we see see Daeron in season 2.

All I'm wondering is if he'd show up in King's Landing right from the first episode or only after Blood and Cheese incident. He'd probably come to King's Landing with Uncle Gwayne

I am so sick of adaptations that are dumbed down so that stupid people can keep up with the story if anything it shows why being faithful to the source material is so important
Several plotlines were either ignored or poorly written in the latter seasons of Game of Thrones

Not at least mentioning Daeron was a big mistake, but they probably hadn't decided back then if they were gonna use him in the story or just cut him as they did to many important GOT characters.

My conspiracy theory is that the writers originally weren't sure they'd get the number of seasons they wanted as after GoT, nobody knew how this spin off would do. So they left evidence of his character flimsy enough that he could show up, but at the same time easily be cut if they only got say 3 seasons total.
