Adam Levy and I just dropped a new guitar course focused on the blues, and he was dropping so much wisdom while we were filming, I had to stop everything and make a video for the channel to share some of these concepts.

Adam is always the calmest, most chill dude. And his playing reflects that. He's never in a hurry. All of us players could learn from that.

I liked how the teacher says, "take the listener on a trip." "Tell a story". Really solid advice! 👍

I love that Adam doesn’t overplay. It’s never about “look what I can do!” It’s always about the song and what sounds musical.

Amazing break down of the exact hurdles I am struggling with at this very moment. Thank you for taking the time to talk through this.

Love the line about being "reactive or proactive"... that's a gem! Especially since it can really work either way depending on the musical situation. Solid video, Adam & Rhett!

This lesson is awesome. I love the beginner section. 'Don't move.' The breakdown of the progression and where you 'could' go, but don't have to, was really helpful.

I saw Adam Levy perform with Lizzy Wright at the Curaçao North Sea Festival a month ago. He's an amazing player. Always tasteful and dynamic.

Excellent way to explain where the notes are coming from a Chord. “Just move that note over here…”

Adam s the Yngwie of slowness. One chair and a lamp in a gymnasium. Our sense of space is engaged when you play. Tasteful execution is a must. Great take on the track guys.

Nicely done. I would add one thing - learn the vocal melody and start there. I know both you guys do this. Of course if it’s a backing track there is no vocal melody yet. In that case try to think like a singer as you solo putting in breaths and the like. Maybe this is for a more advanced player. Also for more advanced players jettison the “box” idea. Once you’ve really learned your scales, etc. try to “hear” what you want to play and let your fingers do the rest if that makes sense.

As @adamlevy explained to stay in the b minor box a little longer, it’s so you can learn how to use all the individual notes and learn to put multiple notes together you move gently over the phrasing with attitude!

This was such a great video, thank you so much! Adam's examples when demonstrating how the pros are proactive and lead you to the next chord was so tasteful and beautiful. Great playing!
