Nintendo has been very active recently striking videos and social media posts online even if they don't cross any line of leaked material.

F Nintendo and their stans. Striking down legit videos Willy nilly should have some consequences

Years of the Internet and gaming pundits highlighting and "morally justifying" piracy and now they're shocked when a company goes full paranoid zealot and cuts down anything that might even have a whiff of being a leak, right or wrong.

I can't say I'm surprised by it all.

Are people surprised? I mean seriously, what are people expecting? Its Nintendo.

Nintendo did not invent YouTube's copyright system, that's what encourages the "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality.

I think those involved with breaking NDA are liable. Everyone else is not. IGN acting like they don't understand this is sickening to me but Nintendo can pardon them or sue them. But once it's out, it's out. I feel like it was a little entitled for IGN to do that and if you ask me, I side with Nintendo. I love their products. Can't say the same about IGN.

I side with Nintendo who is a gaming company who wants to make good video games. A rare breed nowadays.

Man, this has to be the most hyped release in the series so far. At least the most since Twilight Princess.

Just be careful or the Pinkertons might come knocking at your door.

You can trust copyright lawyers to try and crack nuts with sledgehammers. Granted at least they're reviewing and releasing the strikes quickly. Which I know is extremely faint praise but many companies don't bother and let the clock run down.

I have been purposely avoiding ALL zelda related content, except by the YouTubers I trust to not put up spoilers (or announce if there is spoilers anyway). I haven't seen any of the spoilers for the game! I just gotta wait til tomorrow night! Not long now!

Both sides employing the tactic of "better safe than sorry"

It is like what you said, it is an automated system which means it has no smarts. Bear in mind that Fair Use is a defense and it is not a right or a justification.

Recall and Ascend are the most game changing mechanics for a Zelda game like this.

Before the days of wifi and social media, games would still find their way to players early. I was playing Goldeneye weeks before retail release and the only people who cared were my roommate and my Dad. 😂

I'm surprised you didn't mention that they struck their own Twitter account that posted a screenshot.

The Lockpick situation is particularly weird. Instead of allowing users to LEGALLY dump their product keys from the Switch that they own to use in a LEGAL emulator, Nintendo basically forcing users to ILLEGALLY download keys from the internet to use in an emulator. No one has contributed more to software piracy than Nintendo.
