In this video, the list ranks the Star Wars movies by best in grossing using the comparison Bar Chart Race graph. It is a visual representation of data which highlights the top 10 Star Wars movies. Note that the number represents the worldwide Box-office gross in dollars and the list is not adjusted for inflation.

Star Wars is an American epic space opera multimedia franchise created by George Lucas, which began with the eponymous 1977 film and quickly became a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon. The franchise has been expanded into various films and other media, including television series, video games, novels, comic books, theme park attractions, and themed areas, comprising an all-encompassing fictional universe. In 2020, its total value was estimated at US$70 billion, and it is currently the fifth-highest-grossing media franchise of all time.

The original film (Star Wars), retroactively subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), was followed by the sequels Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983), forming the original Star Wars trilogy. Lucas later returned to filmmaking to direct a prequel trilogy, consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). In 2012, Lucas sold his production company to Disney, relinquishing his ownership of the franchise. The subsequently produced sequel trilogy consists of Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015), Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017), and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

All nine films of the "Skywalker saga" were nominated for Academy Awards, with wins going to the first two releases. Together with the theatrical live action "anthology" films Rogue One (2016) and Solo (2018), the combined box office revenue of the films equated to over US$10 billion, which makes it the second-highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

Back in the 70s and 80s, money was worth more, so the OT is probably higher then it says it is #StarWars

You should have made it adjusted for inflation.
Overwise it's just unfair.

I used an inflation adjustment calculator to covert every film into 2021’s money and this was the result:

1) A New Hope ($3.54bn)
2) The Force Awakens ($2.42bn)
3) The Empire Strikes Back ($1.81bn)
4) The Phantom Menace ($1.71bn)
5) The Last Jedi ($1.50bn)
6) Return of the Jedi ($1.32bn)
7) Revenge of the Sith ($1.23bn)
8) Rogue One ($1.22bn)
9) The Rise of Skywalker ($1.16bn)
10) Attack of the Clones ($1.01bn)
11) Solo ($0.43bn)

TCW film made $0.089 billion

Revenge of the Sith is my favorite Star Wars movie. Rouge One is at number 2 for me. Also The Clone Wars is the best Star Wars show of all time

I’m so glad that even though the clone wars movie sucked and so did the first few seasons of the show they still made more and made one of the best pieces of Star Wars content.

If you look at the number of tickets. The only movie that out-sold Star Wars A New Hope in the number of tickets was Gone with the wind.

Adjusted for inflation (estimates not including SE release, only 77-85 releases) (average ticket prices also increased since the OT and PT, so sold even more tickets than it appears)
ANH $2.308bn (beats VII, VIII and IX)
ESB $1.363bn (beats VIII and IX)
ROTJ $1.091bn (beats IX)

TPM $1.691bn (beats VIII and IX)
AOTC $990m
ROTS $1.192bn (beats IX)

Suddenly the sequel numbers don't look so great.

To get this truly accurate you kinda need to factor in how the worth of currency massively changed since the 1970s to the modern day to see which was truly the most popular, but not bad 😁
