Good teaching. Learning things often takes practice, practice and more practice, and this is true of many aspects of the Christian life. Paul seems to be implying that he has learned the secret of contentment gradually.
One point of disagreement - and it's not a big one - is that the bringing low in v. 12 seems to be mainly about material poverty, not about being miserable as you said at one point. The context is all about Paul's physical needs.

Dear Mr. piper and people here. I have proved you absolutely Right! I have been experimenting with keeping Jesus commandments and you are right. It is an arduous task that does not work! But reading bible verses does not work good for me either. Contentment is something that God either gives you or He doesnt. My life seems to not be in my control. I have dreams which sometimes come true and dreams that never come to fruition. Each day comes and I Deal with it..some joys..some sorrows and most of my prayers are Please Help me or Please have Mercy..nothing very fancy. I pray Thy Will Be Done but often wonder who's life I am living? This is really not what I planned. Some joys and some great disappointments. Any way..Thank you for bearing with me through my experiment. We all have Hope of the best life for us and trying to Find the Way. I appreciate and Love you All. I know you are doing the Same.

I hold steadfast to my faith, even in a world of unbelief. I wept tears for the lost souls cause the cost of not having God is much higher than most can imagine! Let's pray God will open more eyes, for those touching the hem of God garment to embrace all of Christ. Demons stink and so do their teachings, it is not a state of living one should want to follow. Christ is real and sincere with us, God his word strengthens those in Christ his name and blood, amen!!!
