I use Makita cordless tools, have done so for years and I'm very happy with them. One of my apprentices has a new Milwaukee brushless kit and it's also fantastic. I honestly can't split the two, I think they're as good as each other.

Good Point. There are so many variables when doing showdowns between tools.

I wanna know how you guys compared a hammer drill to a compact drill? But props to Makita for 3 holes less with half the power

that guy looks a little like a younger Chevy Chase

Put the Makita XPH07 up against that Milwaukee. It will be a whole other ball game boys.

This test is unfair. That Milwaukee drill is more powerful that the Makita, therfore it's not equal to the Milwaukee model.

Why don't you do a fair test where you put equal models in comparison? This is the small drill from Makita and you put that against Milwaukees top model? Cmon. Put Makitas top model against Milwaukees top model next time or are you afraid of having your Milwaukee squashed by a japanese superior brand.

I'm sorry but you're not fooling anyone here. Ppl are smarter than that and if you wanna do tests and comparisons, at least be fair.

Makita in this test was not far behind even with lower specs. What does that say about Makita? If you know the facts, this test proves that Makita is better and more powerful than Milwaukee. Makita has its own design on its motors, Milwaukee has not. That is one of the things that make Makita better. The japanese know how to make great stuff and they put a lot of money and effort into making that happen.

Why people can't appreciate reality? Winning is winning! Loosing is loosing no mater where the tool was made in! The new Milwaukee tools are kicking ass!

The Milwaukee Fuel has 725 pounds of torque. The Makita brushless has 400. Although the Milwaukee is outputting 45% more power in torque, requiring more juice from the battery, it still drilled more holes. Not even close.

FYI, the OLD 9.6 volt NiCad Makita stick battery drills back in the 1980s used brushless can motors. BTW, my 27 year old Makita 9.6 still works, holds a charge, & is not much worse than when it was new. Why? I know how to maintain Ni Cads. Out of 8 batteries 5 still work great. That old Osaka Japan 9.6 has outlasted 6 or 7 other cordless drills. 3 DeWalts, (I liked the DeWalt 18 volt a lot), 2 Milwaukee 18 volt drills (total junk), Bosch 12 volt, (okay), and a couple newer Makitas (sad). When you take care of the Ni Cads they last & last, but not as many amp hours as NiMH, & Lithium.

Good choice. Keep us updated on how you like it.

This is like 4cyl Kia trying to catch a  Mustang Shelby, once you see that the milwaukee drill has a side handle you know that it packs alot of tork equal tools were needed for fairness.

No wonder that the Milwaukee finished quicker when it is almost twice as strong as the Makita. What exactly are you trying too prove here?

There are quite a few good cordless drills on the market, personally I prefer Bosch and Makita, for me they just feel right (good weight distribution).
The best cordless drill is the one that you like working with the most and not the one that others like the most!

Yet another BS test putting a compact Makita against the full sized Milwaukee.  The testers are either crooked or clueless.  Which one is it?

Definitely ready to step into the Milwaukee line.

It depends what trade you're talking about.

The M18 Hackzall is, in my opinion, one of the greatest cordless electrician tools ever devised by man - so much so that I switched my whole van to Red and sold my Makita stuff.

Fuel was the icing on the cake.

And Milwaukee is made by TTI, which is a Taiwanese company.

Batteries as well. They said there are fully charged but you never know. Just buy both and try them out for your self. I use to work for Makita many years ago. I tried a Milwaukee last year and I was sold. I compared it to a I'll just say I took the dewalt back. I'm impressed with the Malwaukee.

It would be cool if you guys could do these 2 tool fights:
Dewalt 20V Max Premium drill vs. Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill
Dewalt 20V Max b-less impact vs. Milwaukee M18 b-less impact
The newer Bosch 18v Brute Drill vs. both the m18 fuel/20vmax premium also.

I´m thinking of buying a corded driller, wich brand do you recommend since the battery is not an issue? I was between Makita and Milwaukee, both with similar specs. Great video by the way. Thanxs
