Adam Savage Gets Turned Into an Animated Puppet!

Adam welcomes director and animator Julian Curi to the cave! We're fans of Julian's lovely short films and puppet style, and get to learn about his design and animation processes with prototypes and puppet samples he's brought along with him. To illustrate how he makes and animates his puppets, Adam and Julian collaborate on two new figures putting Adam and his dog Maggie into an animated scene.

PSA: Gruff is an incredible short, but Julian also turned the in-universe tv show into it’s own little short film, “Bonita & the Bandit” and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet (after you’ve seen Gruff of course)!

I just went and watched "Gruff." It's really well done. I had to stop the film for a minute and walk away because it was breaking me up emotionally, which doesn't happen that often when I'm watching a movie or a tv show. I was surprised he was able to get that emotion using paper puppets.

Speaking of puppets, that new Disney documentary on Jim Henson is really good. Worth checking out. I wish that guy was still around. He and Adam would have had gotten along great. I'm sure Brian Henson would say the same thing.
