I feel so bad for both of them, they were good people portrayed as villains.
Constance passed all her life being assaulted and bullied, and lived locked away, Nebbercracker was a soldier and just wanted to protect the kids.
They both were souls that needed freedom.

It never really hit me as a child just how tragic Constance’s life was. She was probably abused for most of her life to have wound up imprisoned in the circus as part of a Freak Show. Children go to circuses most often and it makes sense that seeing them would trigger something deeply damaged, sad and angry inside her. On top of being actively assaulted by them when you’re no longer even IN the circus. I really wished that Constance could have received the help and consideration she needed in life.

I honestly love this scene because it shows that Nebbercracker was a good guy and was protecting everyone.

Nebbercracker got out of the Driver's side door.
He drove an ambulance home...Hospitals don't allow you to do that.
Then you realize...
Nebbercracker broke out of the Hospital, stole an ambulance, and drove home to save the kids on Halloween night.
He really was a good man.

Nebbercracker just straight up GTA'd an ambulance

When you realize; he was planning to blow up the house, most likely with himself inside of it, as a sacrifice to save all of the kids, and would have likely died as that "grumpy, mean old neighbor everyone hated, who died in a sudden house explosion" and likely nobody would've missed him. 😔💔

“But if I let her go, I’ll have no one.” Very sad.

He just had a heart attack, but was still able to escape the hospital, hijack an ambulance, and help the kids save the day! And he still had the strength give all those kids their toys later. Mr. N. is amazing!

This scene always made me feel so sad for Mr. Nebbercracker. He was a kind guy who tragically lost his wife early on in their marriage. The way he said "I loved her so much" just shows how torn up he still was about it

I feel so sorry for her. You can tell, that she got traumatized after all her years as a circus freak.

This scene is so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. The way he smiles and says "I love her so much!"makes you really feel it. The fact that he takes Constance away and how happy she is about it....And, given how accepting he is of the kids Halloween pranks(before Constance loses her temper and dies) makes you really sad when he has to become an absolute bastard to try to keep the neighbourhood kids away for their own safety.

This scene was always sad to me. Don't get me wrong, the guy having a crush on her was ok but it all ended with her being killed and him losing a loved one.

This flashback of nebbercracker and constance could of been a whole movie. I wish they made a prequel for it. Im interested in their stories, something tells me constance was abused and had a rough childhood.

The way he says "I love her so much!" and that dreamy face he has when he goes to see her at the circus are so touching. He just looks and sound so *in love* with her.

You know what's sad, Constance's hatred of children is totally justified. All throughout the movie, no child has ever given her a reason NOT to. Poor woman was tormented her whole life.

2:28 I like how in the curtains, the words said that “the lady is big as a house”, then after her death she became an actual house

4:21 honestly, this shot is pretty unsettling, especially when it switches to a first-person point of view. Imagine the last thing you see before you die is a pile of concrete pouring right on top of you

Nebbercrackers life is honestly extremely tragic he freed Constance and took care of her when no one else did, and he had to spend every day of his life for decades acting like a terrifying man just to keep the kids and adults from getting hurt by the very woman he loved

This scene honestly makes me hella sad like in the beginning she gets all dressed up for the crowd and waves and smiles at them hoping for a better out come even tho that has probably happened many times over and then we see her not even in the carnival but hooked up in a cage outside of it and she is so happy that someone will finally take her away from her Miserable fragging life and then Those kids came it’s not her fault she was like that she just wanted to have nice things and be left alone after so many years of sadness and abuse
