DL650 absolutely better than BMW have travelled around OZ 2up and outback tracks without an issue still own it and running like new.

Interesting video, can't say I'm down with the darkside, however Ryan Fortnine did a video about it and it was surprising he didn't totally bash the concept. He went through and discussed the physics of turning. Really looking forward to the 650 getting cruise control. Other than that the bmw's reliability rate isn't great compared to the v Strom, will definitely look at the 650 a little more closely.

Have the same bike....i ride everytime, have no car. i never want to have this kind of bike. but, after 81.000 km i must say: AWESOME. And over the whole distance no problem. really nothing. Only services. My next will be the same one.

That rear suppose if you ride a bike like you would drive a car it might make sense for cheapness but cornering and general bend swinging is what makes a bike more fun than any tin box, this nonsense just takes that away completely. You are a bike rider that values cost over everything, including the feel of riding a bike properly it seems. Weird.

Closed the video as soon as I saw the car tyre. How dumb is that.. the shape of that tyre is not made to curve, not to mention the weight and traction that will consume much more gas.

Glad the car tire is working out for you. I had thought about going darkside but needed a more off road style tire. Putting a proper plug in the tire would be very easy/ inexpensive and could save you a lot of headaches down the road. Crashbars, skid plate, metal panniers and more aggressive tires really helped make mine meet my needs. A side-effect was that it looks a little better too.

Although I've not owned the GS for long enough to question reliability. The vstrom was reliable. But perhaps the GS is too iv only owned it for a month
