PS3 Slim vs. PS3 Fat (Comparison/Review)

I don't own 2 PS3's. I returned my PS3 Fat and got the PS3 Slim. The Fat one shown in the video is my friends I borrowed.

PS3 slim is the best PS3, Had it since release, still working fine today, never had any problems with it ever. :D

I love the first ps3 I got it the first week and it still works great! and I am still in love with the design. The letters remind me or spider-man lol. and the backwards compatibility will always be a god sent. And I think i'm the only one who likes the glossy look rather then the mat finish.. I don't feel up my device lol.

actually, they are not the same thing because original 4 USB port ps3s can play ps2 games, however, are less reliable than the slim

You forgot to mention that the older ps3 "fat" version had backwards compatibility and a chrome detail. I personally prefer the older gen. The new model cost less than the older model did but it lost the memory card ports, backwards compatibility, nice shiny look, and touch sensitive buttons. The only noticeable upgrade was the energy and hard drive, and the hard drive can be manually upgraded on the older model. I think you get more bang for your buck with the previous 80/60 gig versions.

my old 60gb just got the YLOD again . so Im trying the slim next . wish me luck . I will miss playing the old ps2 games .

It really comes down to the serial number.
CECHA are 60gb and the PS2 CPU
CECHB are 20gb and also have PS2 CPU
CECHC are 60gb, but use emulation to play PS2 games(not as good as the real CPU)
CECHE are 80gb and use emulation.
All these models have 4 usb ports to help you recognize them.
Anything later than these have no backwards compatibility. Also, the PS2 emulation is not much worse than real ps2 CPU. Hope this info helps you.

4 USB ports/power switch/memory card readers/can play PS2 games --- smaller/lighter/uses less power/more storage space (I have the original 60GB model) Good video btw!

If you're buying a ps3, buy the fat 60gb and 20gb ps3 because it had card readers, ps2 compatibility, four usb ports, touch sensitive buttons, and the power switch in the back.

You didn't mention that the PS3 slim has a different cord for the power supply. You can use your PS2 power supply for your PS3.

I want to get the ps3 fat 80 gb and I have read that there is a power switch on the back and touch sensitive power and eject buttons on the front. For the power in the back, could you just leave it on or would you have to turn the power button off in the back every time you quit playing? I would like it if I could just hit the button in the front to turn it off and on or would I have to do the switch in the back? I have a tight spaced area so this kind of matters to me. Thanks!

It works on the fat one, I like how this video failed to mention that the older designed one plays both Ps3 and Ps2 games.
