Hugh Newman is a world explorer, megalithomaniac and co-author of Giants On Record with Jim Vieira. He has been a regular guest on History Channel’s Ancient Aliens and Search for the Lost Giants and organises the Megalithomania conferences and tours, and co-organises the Origins Conference with Andrew Collins. He lives in Wiltshire.

In almost all culture on Earth there are 3 common myths.

1: The myth of the ancient gods that descended from the Heaven to take for themselves the woman from the daughters of men.

2: The myth of the sons of the gods, the giants that were the product of the sexual relationship between the gods and human woman.

3: The myth of a great cataclysm, in many cases a flood, that destroyed the empires of the gods and their giant (Nephiliim) offspring.

I like the giantology lectures the best. Hugh is the most interesting and then Jim. I also like the elongated skull research like Brien foerster etc and the megalithic stuff about how they shaped and moved the stones.

Always loved Hugh and his research. I will only say that as someone who has trained in grappling and jujitsu, a six ft+ man wrestling an 18 foot one would be pretty much a physical impossibility. 6 ft + vs 12 ft is (barely) concievable if the man were very strong and skilled.

I’m from South Wales, and near Swansea there’s a place called ‘Giant Grave’ not far from the Gower Peninsula.

I’ve always thought if they actually were giants.

Giants come in many different sizes and they appear in more places than you realise. If you find yourself reading this comment and your undecided as to there being any truth to such stories might I suggest you pause for a moment and consider this undeniable and compelling fact - Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian English architecture is styled around 8 foot 6 inch door, a full two feet bigger than current modern standardised doors. Most 'old build' properties have over time remodelled the front doors by fixing glass in the top third of the frame, allowing for a smaller modern 6 foot 6 inch door to be fitted, your own house may well be styled in this way? To put this into a tangible timeline your Great Grandparents may have been just shy of eight feet tall.

regarding the golden lozenge which i noticed at one point, this can be seen in the devizes museum prehistoric section ground floor, and apparently belonged to s bronze age chieftain who also carried a number of other ritual items; a reconstruction of his skeleton can be seen nearby in a glass cabinet. the reconstruction does not appear to be of giant size but of normal human size
